What's new

amazing baseball catch

watched the video a couple times... i agree with the umps.. the real problem is that you're playing a county championship game with a little girls softball fence. i guess technically he was still in the field of play, but i imagine there is a provision on altering the dimensions of the field of play.

and if the pitcher you are talking about was the one pitching in the video, his fastball most certainly does not have nasty movement. threw a 4-seamer there that was straight as an arrow, and it didn't even quite look like 92. maybe you're talking about his 2-seamer (which there is no way he throws at 92).

thing i love about baseball is that prospects are generally irrelevant until after they are drafted. since '65, only 55% of pitchers drafted straight out of high school have made the majors (that's only the first round picks). what they do in the system is what actually makes them relevant.

Wow... eerie. I was going to say the exact same thing. Well, plus a few other things about baseball and stuff.

Bump. I deleted the inital messages years ago. Here's the video from the OP though.

I was standing right behind the backstop (next to a bunch of scouts) for this. Anthony Kay (see the post in the Matz thread) Is the pitcher on the mound.
