What's new

Jeremy Evans on @utahjazz Twitter

You know what Evans is? a 6'9 200 lb center. That's about what his mobility is. Sure he can jump like a kangaroo but I have never seen him succeed in dribble penetration or lateral quickness.

I'm aware that evans has some fairly clear issues, but whenever i actually see him play, he seems to do a pretty good job. would love to see him get more minutes.

Question: How does it feel to be a one trick pony in the NBA who only has a contract because he's good friends with a real player? What is it like to have delusional fans who think you are not playing because the coach is sniffing paint instead of the real reason of you actually not having any talent? Finally, how have you been able to play basketball for this long without actually knowing how to dribble the ball?

I think the questions are fair.....

(if you read this jeremy, don't be too offended, just prove me wrong this year)
Valid observation, although you need to work on your tact. I don't see Evans as a solid rotation player, either. But every team has to have at least 13 players and only 9 or so play in games. By all accounts, Evans is a great guy. He's going to Podunk towns to promote Jazz basketball. He energizes the crowd when he enters a game. If not Evans, the Jazz would have another vet or some Orlando summer league survivor signed to a minimum deal...and also parked on the bench. Since the Jazz gave him a multi-year contract, they obviously feel his PR skills are even more important than what he does on the court.

Tact? On this message board? All I'm doing is throwing some of it back at some posters. My rant is very eerily similar to how other posters comment on Ty Corbin, the guy who has prepared Favors, Kanter, and Hayward for significant roles on the team while either making or almost making the playoffs at the same time when he has a whole year to work. Sure, Jeremy has some weaknesses, so does Ty. Sure, Jeremy has strengths, so does Ty. I will say this; I think that Ty's ceiling is higher then Jeremy's, yet Ty gets all the hate posts and everyone dotes on Jeremy like he is their little brother. As long as both continue to learn and develop, they can both grow with the team and who knows, maybe we'll get somewhere.

the difference being what we expect from the two in their respective positions.

The more minutes Evans gets, the higher our draft pick gets this next year.

Free EVANS!!!

Hi, I'm jeremy evans. I hate playing for the Utah Jazz. I'm their little community bitch boy and I never get to play. All I do is ball out when I get my chance, then its back to the bench, to play behind weak *** scrubs. Yay Jazz

It's more like this. Hi I'm Jeremy. I received a contract twice as big as I deserved based on having a good attitude and being a team player. Oh and I can also jump realllly high. Basically I'm a well paid Utah Jazz good will ambassador.
