Reports or tall tales?
Reports in books. Supposedly the storm was so loud they at first thought it was the Mormon battalion/army coming for the mob.

Some of this stuff is cheesy but this shows exactly what Joseph did if he truly did make it all up.
Wtf, Beantown. You rep me that you agree with me and neg me? That's a clown rep, bro.
Here's a question for non-members.
Is it just me, or does it seem like a lot of non-members here in Utah go out of their way to demonize the LDS Church? I mean, I get that people don't/won't believe in it, but what I don't get is why people go out of their way to make it seem like it's so terrible, evil, etc. That's why I stopped reading comments on FB News pages because people would make anti/ignorant/rude/hehepeepeecaca comments about the LDS church, regardless if the article had to do anything about religion. Why so much hate?
I'm just asking because I can't imagine what domination of any kind (other than the WBB Church lol) would have to do to make me go out of my way and mock it/demonize it/hate it. I tell people all the time I will fully support someone that is doing what they believe regardless if it's something I believe.
I like to explain to my non-members friends that although I'm LDS, I don't consider myself part of the "mormon" culture. There's some dumb/ignorant/mean/rude/judgemental things members do, but that's members, not the church. Anyway...rant rant rant away.

Along with what Gameface said, I would predict that living in a state were some laws are made tailored to the faith of the majority will inherently make the minority feel left out.
Couple that with some of those (common in EVERY faith) who like to use their piety as a measuring stick will look down on others who aren't-- it just makes for a little tumultuousness.
Originally read that as dalapostleDalastotle. Wisdom beyond his ears, y silent.
