If that's what buying and selling would have been like, why were so many developers against Microsofts DRM policy? I'm not buying it. And just because that's the way it works on Steam doesn't mean that's how it would have worked on the XO.

what developers were against the policy? everything i have seen said the new policies would ultimately benefit the developers while shafting the retailers... maybe you have read something i haven't, but the people who have mostly been against this were journalists and consumers

This was never a problem in the first place. No one was like, "Deurrr why can't I store this game and download it from the 'cloud'? Hurrrrr durrrrr deurrrrr"

maybe it wasn't a problem, but it's certainly a better vision for the future. it may be a first-world problem, but its damn convenient to have games stored on the console. i want a disc-less future, so does most people, hence the rise of the itunes store, netflix, etc.

Ya, even though Microsoft came out and said "Share between family" so many times to the point where you'd probably be smart to assume that sharing would be limited to your family.

you seriously think that, despite the impossibility of moderating it? time to bring back this....

This is complete ********. In order to have been able to play a game you would have had to install the game onto your console and tie it to your account WHILE you had the game inside the console.

can be done entirely digitally.

The reason they'd have you go online is to update the games you have installed and put that into their database, update ads, and to take use of the "cloud". For the most part that article is a load of crap, most of which he made up. If even half of the was true, why didn't Microsoft say any of it at either of their conferences?

that was the point of the article. microsoft's pr ****ed up and caved due to public outcry, eliminating some of the most forward-facing concepts on the XO. go read about the xbox one engineer who just wrote that blog about how disappointed he was. he makes a lot of insightful points about how the pr team screwed up their great vision.

i donno what the deal is with your posts man. you just wanna bash microsoft and the xbox one. normally you make some decent points.... this post was simply vitriolic.

Yes and I would argue they're the most important in the equation. Without them, who will pay the bills?

Calling ******** KKK. Link? The whole policy was to BENEFIT developers, to help them 'pay the bills' because they were making no money from games being resold. Still aren't.

... so I guess PS4 developers can't make money neither, which is why they haven't charged for used games. Go figure.

please explain why microsoft feels their "developers" need to be compensated for used games, while PS4 developers do not need it.

Ps3 already does with online games where you have to buy licenses to play games online... You clown.

Regardless, what you are actually saying is the platforms, Sony currently, and Microsoft potentially, trying to HELP developers!

So saying they aren't doing it isn't helping developers at all, so back to your original point, there is NO REASON Developers would be upset like this, unless games depend on people trying used copies of game to interest potential buyers for new releases. You are displaying incredible ineptitude though and its infuriating to talk to you because you never answer any questions.

No problem bro.. I always try to separate the "discussion" from the "person". I try hard to not get personal.. nobody benefits from it.

Haters gonna hate. All you can do is take in on the chin.
