Well, maybe not fight per se......

From Alex Kennedy @AlexKennedyNBA

Shortly after the season ended, I heard that Al Jefferson was packing his bags and expecting to walk elsewhere as a free agent.....

.....I also heard that Paul Millsap and Earl Watson got into it with Ty Corbin last season. Not sure if that will affect their future in Utah.

Watson's exit interview and in season comments about Alec Burks (and the way Corbin was using him) take on more meaning in light of this. It was already clear that Watson was not coming back. I didn't think too much of it at the time when he suggested that coach or management were missusing some players on the roster. Now I wonder what else transpired.

If Burks sided with Watson in the little dispute with Corbin, then Burks will be traded. Sad.

I've always believed Al would be an expiring, so no surprise there.
I'd be surprised if there was anything very heated involving Sap.. but I can't say I know the guy.

I am okay with trading Burks if it's a good trade, regardless the reason... as long as we don't have a coach that may cause defections.

****, Jimmy. I thought this would be good based on thread title. A little disappointed.

Who the hell is ALaxative Kennedy?

@AlexKennedyNBA I'm not surprised but at the same time, two sides to every story. Also, doesn't this happen a lot in any locker room?

Yes, Max Chang, yes it does.

Well anyone who watched the game could see that Burks was being used wrong. Either there was a mutiny on hand last year or guys were ok with speaking out because they knew they were gone. As far as Watson is concerned, nice knowing you Earl. I lost respect for him when he whined about not playing after he came back from his injury. Guy is only good for an alley-oop every once in a while. I would be shocked if Millsap was ready to fight because he rarely says anything except for his obvious unhappiness with being benched some times.

On the other hand, if these rumors are true than Ty might have the communication problems that others have suggested or NBA players are just divas and talk about winning/teammates unless it affects their playing time $$$$$.

I hope all three walk unless the Jazz can make a deal that improves their team or gets them draft picks.

I guess this means the Bulldog won't be coaching the team anytime after he retires. Remember when we liked Watson...

I still like Watson. His time as a rotation player has passed but he had good heart and energy. He fought for his team mates. I'd like to see him get into coaching and stick around the league.

Not to dispute your take, because I don't have any idea what happened, but I'm not going to just assume this had anything to do with Burks. Watson considered himself to be the primary backup PG and may have had an issue with Corbin about consistent playing time. Also, if it did happen (and it's a big if) we don't know if it was a one time thing in the heat of the moment, or if it was ongoing.

Marc Stein: Been hearing this one more and more lately: Rising sense out there that Jazz might simply let big man Al Jefferson walk in free agency

Makes me think more and more the plan is to get loaded this draft, let our young guys lead in 2013-14 and draft in 2014 and try to go deep into the playoffs.
