Story on Marvin

"He can't say he didn't have a legitimate shot to turn his career around, though. He started the majority of Utah's games this season (51) over promising young big man, Derrick Favors."

That tells me all I need to know about the basketball IQ of this Yahoo "contributor." Leave the sports reporting to the pros, young fella.

Watchin Marvin play was one of the biggest reasons I stopped watching the Jazz altogether. He didn't give a ****. He was phoning it in pretty much every night. Then I'd see Paul come in. The thing is, Marvin not caring, meh, who the hell is he anyway? But Paul would come in and only seem slightly more invested in the outcome of the game. For that I figure he's still worried about his reputation and his perceived skill level, so he wants to win if for no other reason than to raise his stock and hopefully because he just wants to win. I didn't get the impression Millsap was really invested in the Utah Jazz last year, though.

Ugh, I can't wash the taste of last season out of my mouth fast enough.

Who can blame them? No matter how hard they play, the ball is just going to Al 90% of the time. The other 10%? Waiting for Al to reposition himself for a second entry pass.

I remember seeing Spencer Nelson shutting Williams down in summer league and thinking how awesome it was... Too bad it was more telling of how bad Marvin really is rather than how good Spencer is. That being said though, I bet Spencer would have been a better NBA pro.

And all this time I thought Favors was a power forward or center, when in fact he's really a small forward competing for playing time with Marvin Williams. Like the saying goes...You learn something new everyday. Thanks Yahoo Sports!

It's called Yahoo Sports because any yahoo who writes an article about a team can get it posted.
