What's new

Should have trusted my GUT! Schroeder!

Yeah, but in a given 24 hour day, how long do you actually stay in bed wide awake though?? 1-2 hours maximum? You actually have to live with that person throughout the day as well right? At least 5-6 hours each day not counting working hours?

I'd just play video games and watch basketball as I usually do.

It should have been Shroeder!

I think he is a future star. It wasn't just his athleticism, it was his instincts and defensive prowess. Schroeder #14 and Gobert #21 was the route to take.

We may not see it for 3-5 years but talent and athleticism will eventually win the day.

Don't get me wrong I am excited for Burke, but I would have easily have been excited if the front office verified what we all saw in Schroeder by selecting him.

What concerns me is that he had a bad workout here when he came in... did that sour the Jazz and if so why? I thought 99% of the scouting on players was supposed to come before any workouts. Locke said that the hoop summit was not where the Jazz were on to this kid, that they knew about him. I will be watching his career develop with an eye to whether or not that was the direction we should have headed.

Watching on NBA TV right now this kid is a beast... mistakes will be made but Burke, McCollum, MCW just cant do what this kid is doing at 19.

He has game changing ability.!

You make the Jazz picks?

I wanted Schroeder and then CJ then Burke. I wasn't initially happy that the Jazz moved up to get Burke because we gave up both picks. I got on board because everyone was ecstatic about landing Burke. However, I was fine with all three. I had concerns about all three.

My concern about Burke was his size and his athleticism.
CJ was he really a PG
Schroeder was his attitude/maturity and his shot.

Time will tell and going by SL is ridiculous. Many of the top draftees have struggled in SL. Porter, McLemore, Olapido and Burke are all busts based upon their SL performances.

Schroeder looks good but the first game I saw him he was standing around a lot and got beat off the dribble. The surprising thing about Burke was that his defense was better than I thought. Yes he got beat off the dribble but he stayed in front of his man the majority of time.

If I were drafting I would have take a gamble on Schroeder and taken Gobert at 21. But Burke is a Jazz man and one thing I know Burke will work his butt off to get better.

This thread makes me want to deactivate my account and take a baseball bat to my laptop. Talk about some whiny little girls. We chose Burke, live with it.

Because of all the posts saying Schroeder over Burke I watched the hawks and heat play yesterday. Schroeder had moments where he did things that were awesome. He cleanly picked miami's point guard so fast it was amaZing. However he also did things that made me scratch my head. Like giving miami's point guard the lane to the basket and pulling up for a wide open jump shot that shattered the backboard from the top of the key. After watching both play, burke is far ahead of Schroeder. That may change in a couple years but right now its burke and it not close.

Reported to Colton.
Prepare for swift kick to the rear end.

Agree. I, too, was expecting Schroeder to be drafted by Utah. I thought they'd take Olynyk at #14 and then trade up if it looked like both Schroeder and Larkin would be off the board at #21. I was thrilled when the Jazz was able to get Burke and then Gobert. Burke will always be limited due to his size. I hope he develops into a solid PG; I don't see him ever being all-star quality.
