I'm more of a truck/suv guy.. I want my cars to take care of me rather than me take care of them.

However, full disclosure, I have had;

4 Mercedes
1 Ferrari
1 Viper (spare me, I was 24yrs old)
1 Acura
1 Range Rover

Pretty much everything else has been trucks and SUV's.

My wife is hot for BMWs but I've never cared for them. I'd take a 10 cylinder AWD Audi if I could afford it. If that makes me a prick, I'm a prick. Since I can't afford it, I'd take a WRX or STi any day of the week over a more expensive car.

This vehicle rolled 4 times down Spanish Fork Canyon.

My wife, my son and my mother-in-law were in the vehicle. They all walked away from the accident. That's a Subaru Forester XT (turbo).

Yeah, MIL, die already. Just kidding.

It was April but there was a late spring snow storm in the canyon. My wife lost the back end and it was over. She ended up in the creek and water started coming in the car. They had to climb up through the snow. Luckily someone saw them go over the edge and was there to help them climb up. No serious injuries at all and my MIL had a stroke a few years before and has some serious heart issues.

Anyway, I'm a pretty big Subaru fan.

You should look at the GTI's and Golf R's (if you really want that AWD) if you like German engineering for a reasonable price. I'd take a VW over a Subaru any day, personally.
