Automatic thread updating

Is it possible to make the threads update when a new post comes in without having to refresh the thread?

Do forums shy away from that because of the page shifting as the new posts come in at a fast pace?

There should be a way to have new posts come in automatically without that problem, imo.

For example: You know a new post has posted 1 of 2 ways. 1. You are looking at the bottom of the screen. 2. Anal erts let you know. Like a little tab that says the number of new posts since last entry.

I like the notification on the new activity page. Same thing would be nice in a thread. Especially when you're posting from a phone.

So last year my 7th grader, in health class, learned about ************ as part of their sex-ed class... or whatever they call it now.

Yet Colton finds it an inappropriate topic amongst adults.

Sorry, C, but I think your nose is too far in the air.

You don't see a difference between talking about something in an educational context, and making an off-color joke about it? Seriously?

Currently, the word is in the filter. That means it can't be used in an image, either. Whether or not colton finds it inappropriate amongst adults is an entirely different issue than this one.
There have been numerous instances in the past when an issue like this has been allowed when it is truly a meaningful conversation. This one wasn't.

I didn't know it was a filtered word or I wouldn't have posted it. If anything I've been helping others by tipping them when they unknowinhly are breaking the rules.. and certainly more so than me intentionally breaking them.
My reply to Colton was over the neg not board rules.

Of course. I think my context was how remarkably sensitive you are. I'm not even close to mad about it or judging you, but just an observation that I have never in my 41 years ran across someone so seemingly lacking in a bit of color. Dont mean to be harsh. Srsly. Its just like wow.

OK.
Hell, I didn't even know it was your post. If I would have, my vote would have changed from warning to infraction.

^good.. that's how it's supposed to be. We ain't here to be all serious, stately, and flexatious.

I've said before that my desire is for this forum to be a place where it's family-friendly enough that my teenage daughters could participate without being uncomfortable. This is not a boys locker room, it's a public forum. If you'd be comfortable with your daughters being exposed (no pun intended) to ************ "humor" on a basketball forum, then I'm the one that gets to say "Wow".
