I wonder how'd would affect his draft position if there was a legit 7 footer available on a similar talent level. Like Oden - Durant in '07. I don't wanna hate in any way, but history has shown that teams were more likely to select the big man. Maybe too many guards don't reach that game changing level and could get you fired as GM, while big men drafted #1 as promising as Hakeem, Shaw, D12 and Oden are struggling mostly because of injuries(Except when Michael Jordan or the Clippers draft first).
W/o knowing how their careers turned out, I'd bet money on that the Bulls would have selected Hakeem too at #1 and the Thunder would have also picked Oden in case they had Portland's pick.
