It's simple.

The kids wear dedicated bb shoes they ONLY wear on the hardwood. Never concrete or anywhere else for that matter.
It's highly fashionable for a player to carry his bb shoes in his bag while wearing his Nike Elite socks and slip on to and from practices.
Once in the gym, the shoes go on.. back off when leaving.

It's almost a way of communicating amongst each other who's the ballers in a crowd.

He is a big Nightwish fan it is funny that he was in the same shirt both times they had pictures taken. Favors has been there 4 times that I know of.

When I was younger you might as well have burned my basketball shoes for that season of they touched anything but the hardwood.
