Failed Login Notification

I've had a few reports from people here that they're getting an email with the subject of "Failed Login Notification on JazzFanz Community". This email is likely a result of a brute force attempt to access the site through your user account in order to SPAM us. Our software automatically locks down the account from more attempts to login for 15 minutes once five invalid attempts have been tried.

If you get this message, just send me a copy of the email using the Contact Us link at the bottom of this page or PM me to let me know. Also, now may be a good time for EVERYONE to make sure your JazzFanz.com password is a little more complex than just a basic word by making sure it has a number, upper and lowercase letters, and even a symbol (e.g. @^$#) in it. Just please don't use "password" as your password

In all seriousness, this is a good method for a kickass password:

1) select a 4-letter word you can remember

maybe jazz

2) select a 4-digit number you can remember, maybe even that goes with the word from 1

maybe 1998

so

jazz1998

Then just hit "shift" on every other character, and you get:

JaZz!9(8

To make it even more secure you can add a second word or number set, or even double them up completely:

jazz1998

and

core2013

put them together:

jazz1998core2013

shift every other character:

JaZz!9(8CoRe@0!3

there you go, 16 character (nearly) uncrackable password very easy to remember. Once a password passes 12 characters it becomes very difficult and time-consuming to brute-force crack it.

They got on some radical muslim forums and screwed with them, and the forums would try to track them and hack their stuff. So they'd get other rival forums involved and then scare the hell out of them by hacking their sites and putting in one of these Hacked by Muslims things in.

That's elite level trolling. *** Helmets.

We were always at odds but I've been trying to be a good big brother for him you know. But it was his fault to break it all. I caught him beating the old man and I learned that wasn't the first time. It's unacceptable for me to beat a 60+ years old man, I would never be OK with that even if he wasn't my father. So we had a huge last fight, I kicked him out from the house.

He deserved it.

Jason, may I make a suggestion?

I don't know if it's possible but it would be more secure if we login to the site with the "e-mail and password" duo instead of the "username and password". That way this kind of cases would occur lesser. Because there is nothing to stop a random person to chose a username from the board and try to login with it even for fun or with ill-intent to lock the account.

Just a thought.
