What's new

Clippers @ Jazz | Saturday November 6th @ 7pm

Griffin is a beast. He's really impressed me with his Duncan like glass shots 5-10 feet out. He's obviously worked hard during his time out.

Even if we win by 20 tonight ESPN will only show Blake's two or three highlights.

Tonight Jefferson against Kaman and Griffin looks like Boozer against Gasol and Odom. Maybe it's because he's tired and not in great shape, but his defense has been abyssmal.

someone needs to get a fire sloan thread going...
It doesn't need to be a "fire Sloan" thread. How about a "Owner, tell your coach to play the lineups that are performing" thread.

Fesenko comes in and gives 3 rebounds, 2 blocks, 2 points, 1 PF and 0 on-court +/- in 6 minutes. Elson is part of a combination that puts up fewer stats yet the more important positive +/-. Yet Ol' Jer can't wait to get back to his formidable undersized PF/C combo of Millsap and Jefferson, who have combined for less than each of the starting 4 and 5 on the Paper (now Steel) Clips.

Utah centers: +3 average.
Utah power forwards: -16 average (mostly playing alongside each other).

Coaching 101.

I was thinking the same thing. Fesenko came in and played very well. Instead of rewarding him for his performance, he returns to Jefferson, who looks like he's about to pass out.

Does Deron look completely disinterested to anyone else? Since the season began, his body language has not looked good to me at all.

Disinterested doesn't mean what you think it means. But Deron has been disappointing. I believe he's out of shape.

I wouldn't say disinterested. Frustrated to hell, sure. Being a primary scoring option and the primary facilitator is never easy, but it's a lot harder when half the team has changed, especially since maintaining the system is so paramount.

No matter what he does, when the Jazz are losing, he's going to take the heat. Which is as it should be, I suppose. But when he takes games over, people complain, and when he doesn't, people complain. So I refer back to my initial point.
