Dating age range.

So it seems some people are taking the age divided by 2 plus 7 thing as the age you should date. Isn't that supposed to be the lower end? Would there be a higher end or does that matter as much? I mean, I am 43, and would have no problem dating someone in her mid-20's, but I would shy away from going much older than, say, 50 at this point. But actually I find myself more attracted to women in my general age range - 35-45. I supposed that is normal, but given biology geared toward passing on our genetic material, it seems to me to make sense that anyone and everyone would be attracted to people that seem to be in the prime child-bearing/rearing years. If that is the case, is it really a terrible thing if a 43 year old man is dating a 23 year old woman, or vice versa?

Ability to bear children is one thing.
Ability to be mature enough is another.
The problem I had with dating younger chicks this time around is not that they weren't cute, or weren't great in.. ahem... or didn't have a lot going for them. It's just that they didn't have life experience, couldn't relate on a lot of things, and I had a hard time being around someone lacking that maturity. It wasn't a generational difference because it's my job to be up on current trends, music, technology, fashion, etc. even if I don't subscribe to them. It was, plain and simple, a significant difference in experience, wisdom, and outlook.

Now that being said, there are certainly women out there with old souls that have it a lot more together despite being younger in age. They know that they don't know anything, and are better for it. If you can find one of them that is hot and isn't taken, then good for you. But they're few and far between.

The range is the range of friends you have. If you have no 18-year old friends, you have no business dating an 18-year old.
 
I'm really surprised by the upper limit for these guys in their 20s. Chicks in their 30s shouldn't be off the table, imho. I mean, I guess if all dating is in pursuit of marriage then I kind of get it, but that's not the case, is it?
 
My dating pool consists of one person and the age "range" changes once a year. Can I still participate in this convo geys?

I recently went out for a drink with a 40 year old lol

I'm just saying 21-27 is the age range I picture myself dating. It's not a cut off.

That's what I used to think but you don't want to look like you're walking around with your mom/aunty neither.....
