What's new

would you consider this?

And he's not a ball-hog, he can be on the court as the 5th option and let everyone else get their touches.

I get the impression that a lot of posters think that being able to score is a bad thing on this team.
Like we are just loaded with scorers.
Marvin and jefferson are great for this team cause they don't need the ball and the like.

I got news for everyone.... hayward and kanter won't be challenging for the scoring title anytime soon.
More scorers is a good thing

Almost posted the same thang.

I was just going to put the Jazz fan moral victory spin on it.. we may have lost every game but our defense is money and we kept our opponents to 85ppg.

So you're saying Bring Back Al? He was a scorer. Or perhaps CJ Miles? He was a scorer.

We are aware there are no *established* scorers on this team. We need to find out who *can* be a scorer out of our young guys (something we should have been finding out already, but, you know...). They don't have to be elite scorers, but we need three guys who can all score 15+ppg and a couple more than can average double-figures. The only way to find out if we have that is get them the ball and let them shoot.

Marvin and Jefferson are just fine as the mandatory 5th guy on the court, who are just good enough you have to guard them but don't have a high usage rate and won't cry about lack of touches.

Also, it seems clear to me that we are building a defence-first team. We've needed to score 100 points to win over the past few seasons because we had matador Boozer and then lazy Al conceding so many points. Scoring 100 points becomes less important if you can hold your opponents to 85 ppg.

Nice well thought out response
