Quick Question #1: What's with Trey Burke's "sleeve"?

He wore it against the Pelicans and OKC:

But took it off against at home against the Bulls:

Anyone know what's with the change?

- Also does the sleeve help with shooting/keeping your arm warm at all?!

- Or is he just trying to emulate his childhood idol - Allen Iverson?

Obviously he was hiding his tattoos, or at least one of them, from the sensitive communities of New Orleans and OKC. Once he got back to the more modern, accepting, and open community of Utah he felt like he could relax and just be himself.

Interesting... do you know by any chance which tattoo was he hiding???

I believe the sleeve helps with blood flow or something.

Hmm... I actually thought it would do the opposite and "restrict" blood flow...

Speaking from experience here - I've never worn a sleeve but I've worn some pretty tight condoms.

Looks like there could be many reasons. added protection to the arm, fashion, keeping shooting arm warm, hiding tattoos, confidence booster, rituals. etc.

Thank you for your contribution.

Arm protection: Can a thin layer of latex do that? It didn't look padded or anything...

Fashion: A real possibility.

Keeping arm warm: Another real possibility

Hiding tattoos: But why did he have his arm tattooed in the first place?

Confidence booster: ?? Like, How??

Ritual: ?? Again, can you elaborate??

Can anyone else chip in on this? Seems like a good list we've got going here now.

i have worn one before to help my elbow feel better. when you shoot alot your elbow starts to hurt, the arm sleeve helps the elbow bounce back after the shot is released (like a springy thing) this is the asnwer to your question, the end.

Thank you for your input & insight.

It's quite strange as:

- He did not wear it in college.

- Then he wore it briefly at NO and OKC.

- Then he took it off during last night's game????

I do wonder if it became too "itchy" for him. Did it make you feel itchy wearing it?
