More young men in California rise in pitch at the end of their sentences when talking, new research shows.

This process is known as "uptalk" or "valleygirl speak" and has in the past been associated with young females, typically from California or Australia.

But now a team says that this way of speaking is becoming more frequent among men.

O-M-GGGGGGGGG!

That's seriously disturbing. I've noticed the uptick though, anecdotally, in Utah as well. I'm going to keep my balls guarded like my name is Stockton.

If I met a dude that like talked like that I would like totally punch him in his face!

I believe it. Look at this site and all the silly trends that get started and how many people jump on the bandwagons (the hashtag stuff, the tbh, the dat and doe). Those are your people that end up talking like girls.

Chinese man defends men's rights:

China - A man jumped to his death after a furious row with his girlfriend who insisted they go into another clothes shop.

CCTV shows Tao Hsiao, 38, escorting his girlfriend around a shopping mall in Xuzhou, Jiangsu province, east China. After five hours Tao finally had enough and demanded to go home. Eyewitnesses say he could be heard saying they already had more bags than they could carry, but she insisted on going into one more shop where the was a special offer on shoes.

An eyewitness said: "He told her she already had enough shoes, more shoes that she could wear in a lifetime, and it was pointless buying any more. She started shouting at him, accusing him of being a skinflint, and of spoiling Christmas. It was a really heated argument."

The shouting match ended when the man chucked the bags on the floor and jumped over the balcony. He smashed into Christmas decorations on his way down before hitting the floor seven stories below.

I wonder if 'like' is one day going to become a grammatically correct interjection term. When I'm around my youngest daughter's friends, they, like, drive me crazy talking this way. They, like, sound like ditzy bubble heads.
