For those wanting to trade Marvin/Jefferson to contender

They make too much, it's not going to happen.

Just playing big brother and softening the blow come trade deadline.

Plus teams will want to send back long term contracts which the Jazz don't want.
Jazz want an open payroll for next year.

Wanting Jefferson/Williams traded and thinking Jefferson/Williams will be traded is rather dichotomous. Oh, and if you think posting will change the "vets get teh minutes for teh deadline trade value!" then you may want to save your breath/keystrokes.

I agree they won't be traded to a contender. If we were to trade them, it would obviously be a team looking to make a big splash in free agency next summer.

Very groundbreaking stuff here.

You mean the Jazz wont make a mid season trade? Thats just crazy.

Dont agree. It does mean that we will have take a player back with a bad contract. The key is either it expire at the end of this year or the other team is forced to give us a good asset back.

This is also a concern of mine. This is certainly true of Jefferson, but I think Marvin might be tradeable. There's also the whole taking on salary next year, too, but I haven't figured out a package yet that makes sense for both sides.

I think the most likely trade for Jeff or Rush or Marvin is to a contender wanting a vet back up for the stretch run. No one in a lottery position will take these guys for a pick but a contender might IF they fit a glaring weakness or fill a void caused by injury. I don't think a partial year of salary is too much for a team in that position. Not saying it will happen but IMO the most likely scenario for them to be traded.

Jefferson should go.
He's not going to be on Jazz next year for sure.
Rush and Marvin both are young vets that could fit in with Jazz future.

They are also both free agents at the end of the season. Why not try to get some assets for them before they are gone?

Marvin has plenty capital. I expect Rush to get there too. Neither will fetch anything to get excited over.

The only point I care to make is the Jazz are not and will not be showcasing vets for a trade. Let the trolls now take that to the furthest extents..

I think Marvin has some trade value. Jefferson is just an expiring contract that the jazz are inexplicably playing like they actually want to be paying him the money he is getting.

I don't care if they go to a contender, a pretender, or whatever team they trade them to. The big thing for me is that they are valuable pieces to some kind of a trade, even if it is only because they are expiring contracts that can be used by teams looking to sign melo this summer.

Have you ever inquired into the rules of NBA trades? It's fun braugh. Try it.
