maybe this was answered at some point, I'm not sure...
but if you worked for an employer who, for whatever reason, requested that you refrain from saying Merry Christmas to customers (or some other religiously significant greeting) and instead use the more generic Happy Holidays, would you have a hissy fit about it?
(OK, maybe hissy fit is not a good phrase, I'm not sure - if you're offended by my use of that term, I'm sorry. Now I may have to look it up. If you have an alternative to suggest that would mean essentially the same thing, let me know. Thanks.)

because that is one problem that I've seen happen - - a good friend of mine had a conniption because her boss told his staff not to include "Merry Christmas" in their correspondence but to replace it with Happy Holidays or Best wishes for the New Year.
Funny thing, she's about as anti-religion as they come, but she was most upset that her boss was trying to dictate to his employees what they should say. I say, if it's official company correspondence, that's his prerogative.
