Burke's Rise to Become the Greatest PG in Today's NBA!

OK, here is how this is going to work. In order to track Burke's rise to greatness, we are going to have to accurately rank every point guard in the NBA, and by Point Guard I am currently counting anyone who has logged a nontrivial amount of time as Point Guard (we can argue as we go.). We will start at the bottom and work our way to the top, eventually getting to Burke and the people still tenuously clinging to a lead in front of him. We will then update the list as we go. Your job is to jump in and chronicle the next player up on the rankings, why they suck or have promise, and possibly why they will probably always be inferior to Burke. Also keep in mind that this is a "what have you done for me lately" event. Don't come in here ranking Steve Nash top 10, because he hasn't been that this season. As far as the rankings are concerned NBA started this year going forward.
So once you make your entry for the next best player, you will need to find a "sponsor" to back you up. Or someone can claim that you are full of it and offer another choice. At that point the board will argue and will come to a consensus. Five likes on a candidate post locks it in for the time being.
Here is a stub ranking provided by CBS Sports to get us started. It can start as a rough guide and we can mold it from there:

Once a player is locked into his ranking, they will get a *CONFIRMED* status next to his name on the ladder. I will keep the completed list on the next post.

Player #97
Devin Harris
Because, how could it not be? Seriously I had to check to make sure he was still on a roster. Sure enough he is in the Hawk's media guide. Apparently he broke his toe, almost came back then has somehow hurt his other toe. Now there may be some players that are ultimately worse than him that will be out of the League next year, but few of them just signed a three year 9 million dollar contract. And because that type of suck is on the books for two additional years, I nominate Harris for the #97 spot.

YOur list is totally bulls hit, and now you even can't find out that the verbal pre-contract agreement that would have given Harris a 3 yr $9M contract in Dallas was agreed to get voided by Harris' agent after it was known that Harris broke his foot. He received a 1 yr minimum deal though and is expected to return in january. So there's nothing here with 2 more years. Please stop that ****. You're horrible. Merry Christmas

90 something point guards on your list seems like a big waste of your time...you're talking about some 3rd string backups here. You should just compare starting PGs. I mean really...who the F is Nando De Colo?

"Burke's Rise to Become the Greatest PG in Today's NBA!"

...you got to be on crack cocaine, the best/strongest marijuana ever grown....or you down quarts of Wild Turkey 101 on a regular basis!

Hey, I didn't create that list! Don't blame me for it. It was pulled off the CBS sports link I referenced. I did find it amusing that they placed Harris dead last. The point of this exercise is to CORRECT CBS's list. Or we can just have another discussion about how Ty Corbin doesn't play rookies, because we haven't done that in the last 30 minutes. We are doing all 90 or so because it is interesting and different! Seriously Francis, lighten up!

Also, I think that CBS factors defense into their rankings, but they don't specifically say how.

Great idea, framer. Reppin appropriately. I agree with others about chopping the list. Trey is top 30 right now, how about starting there?

I submit deleting Monta from discussion (burks too), moving Parker and Dragic into top ten, and putting a bullet in Jenning's head.

...we would have cut you some slack but the title of the thread seemed like you were serious about Burke!

OK, but the problem is that we have to have a list of people BELOW Trey to make it fun (Dennis Schroder comes to mind.) So for starters I guess we can decide which of the 97 or so should be thrown off the list and not considered. There are people that only rarely play point that could be pared down (Burks is on this list.) We could probably start there. I'm just not ready to deny Nando De Colo his moment in the sun quite yet!

I like the idea of the thread. Repped.

Wall is a little high for my liking doe. I would take the next four before him.

So like this:
1. Stephen Curry, GS
2. Chris Paul, LAC
3. Damian Lillard, POR
4. Russell Westbrook, OKC
5. Kyrie Irving, CLE
6. Tony Parker, SA
7. John Wall, WAS
8. Goran Dragic, PHO
9. Brandon Jennings, DET
10. Kemba Walker, CHA
Are we rolling with Damian Lillard as the third best point guard in the league?
