By having all of these big game where we are only giving minutes to Burke, Hayward, and Favors. Mark may words Kanter and Burks are not going to resign with this team because of this treatment. Right now they are young and not going to say anything. But, just like Deron watching Milt Palacio play over him when he was a young player this whole fun wacky year that you are watching and relishing is going to be the beginning of the undoing of our Jazz. Since we are not going to get a good pick. WE are going to overpay for Hayward. And I understand that this recent game makes you feel like Hayward is on the path to greatness. But, so was CJ Miles every 10th game or so. We should start calling this group the core three and the washed up vets.

Now I'm done

Sorry one more that wasn't watching the team win that was one player that had a good night for our team against a really good team without two key players.
 
I disagree with OP.

I do think that burks and kanter should get more playing time..... But I think corbin has done a good job of keeping the locker room together and I don't seem kanter or burks as being disgruntled or pissed off.

Completely bogus analogy.


For all his failings Deron at least admitted later on that he came into his rookie season unprepared.


Also, he initially re-signed with Utah - he wasn't traded off his rookie contract.
 
No way that Kanter will resign with the Jazz after such kind of treatment.

I expect an uncaring attitude from him until the end of the season, hoping that they will trade him.

In spite of everything he is averaging good numbers....find me another big man in the league with 11pts and 6 reb coming off the bench playing no more than 25 min.

The worst thing is that he is not involved in the crucial moments of the game.

Agree. To be honest, it looks like Burks is really having fun out there, and Both he and Kanter seem to really be improving to the point that both will see big minutes next year or even later this year. With all that said the op is kind of an idiot. Some posters shouldn't be allowed to start threads. Mods. Please get to work on that!
 
Burks is being treated very well. Averaging almost 30 minutes a game is as much as he could plan on getting on any team. It is not like he is a great shooter, or has displayed any elite nba skills. He has turned into a very solid player, and his role suits him just fine on this team. He may continue to grow, but what are you going to argue that he is not getting by playing 30 minutes a game?

I think he is elite at getting to the rim and finishing..... at only 22 years old.

I agree with the rest of your post but its frustrating to watch his minutes go up and down so much.
Last he only gets about 20 minutes if marvin doesn't foul out.... and that is in a game that he was playing pretty well too

For sure about getting to the line. I am just impressed with the way Burks has developed this year. He is consistently decent, and that says a lot about him. His shooting percentages are low, but he does shoot a lot of free throws, so his true shooting percentage is probably higher.

It does suck that Jefferson is getting the preference in minutes, but one thing to think about is that both Burks and Hayward are probably best suited to play the 2, so that limits one or both of their minutes somewhat. A lot of nights, it is fine to have Hayward guard opposing small forwards, but like last night against Durant, he probably struggles with Durant's size. I really wish one of Burks or Hayward was just a little more suited to playing small forward, then we could have them both start every game. Burke, Burks and Hayward could be really good together, I think.

Actually they are playing really well together. In 22 games(203 minutes) they have an OffRtg of 105,4 and a DefRtg of 104,5. That's a NetRtg of 0,9. Which is currently the 4th best Jazz lineup with 200+ minutes. So I would say give them some more burn together and see if they can play good together for longer stretches.

Burks played more than half the game. He's going to be upset about that?

Why should we care if Kanter doesn't re-sign? Minnesota fans have gotten over Derrick Williams. Sacramento fans have gotten over Tyreke. Maybe you catch up to speed?

I don't think he is upset but last night the jazz were up by a bunch and the the thunder started to come back mainly due to mistakes by burke, jefferson, and hayward.

So corbin removes burks so he can bring in marvin.... once marvin is in the game, the thunder cut into the lead even more, and got it down to 5 points I think.
Burks only played 20 minutes at this point (less than half the game) and is most likely going to be on the bench until the games ends.
Thank god marvin fouled out so burks could come back in and help close out the game with a somewhat comfortable win.
Almost single handedly won because of hayward going off but it was interesting that burks was benched even though he wasnt doing anything wrong and jefferson was sucking

There is still plenty of hope for kanter. Don't write him off.

Yesterday Kanter has been benched early in the 4th after an unfair technical foul.

He wasn't doing anything wrong neither...10 points and 5 rebounds in just 13 min!

The Thunder were playing one big and four guards. Would you rather Favors get benched or Kanter?
