If the Jazz don't get a top three pick these two guys could be an option. But could they co-exist with Trey Burke and play as a 2 guard?

They are definitely both "combo guards" who can score the ball at a high level. Here are their measurements:

Marcus Smart: 6'4/220

Dante Exum: 6'6/180
 
I'm not sure. They are intriguing players, but I know very little about either. I hear so much hype on Exum here, and on other boards. He makes me nervous because of the competition he's faced. I'd like to see him in college, and against other high level players.
 
i think smart could, but he lacks the length and pure shooting ability youd look for in a starting 2 guard... similarly sized to oladipo without the 42" vertical

Exum is a much better fit, he maybe best served playing off the ball, he has a lightning quick 1st step and post up ability. heres a vid of Exum playing off the ball

Exum can play either on or off the ball. Smart needs to floor-direct, since that's his strength and his jumper isn't consistent enough to play SG.

Burke and Exum could be great together.

It means that the right thing to do when drafting is to take the best available player. It isnt ideal for us to take a pg or combo guard. We really need a sf, but we may not get our wish. So we have to take what next best.

IMO, Smart is at very least a top8 player in this draft. I think he goes more like 5-6 though.


So Beantown asks a good question, can they coexist?


Really what needs to happen though is the Jazz better just get this tank right

I agree, just joking around, as catch was somewhat describing Burks a little.
 
What's wrong with a Hayward/Burke backcourt? So what happens to Hayward? We move him to SF where he'll have to go up against guys like Lebron and Durrant? Yikes. Or do we trade him/let him walk?
 
Smart has played against other good players. Who does Exum go against? Big gamble when you take overseas players unless they have played college ball here in America.
