Why Corbin is a DUD

Read this Corbin..........................then think of how you have held back the young core of the Jazz. Free Burks and Kanter and for crying out loud play the core 5 major minutes together!

Earlier in January
, we detailed the odd professional existence of Boston Celtics swingman Keith Bogans, who has rarely played for the team in 2013-14. Bogans is being paid a league-average salary as a sign-and-trade throw in, created to make Boston and Brooklyn’s Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce-centered deal NBA salary cap legal last July. This is fine, and some would say lucky, compensation, but because Bogans is a competitor and has an actual beating professional heart, he doesn’t really want to just take the money and not play the game he loves.
Boston, looking to develop a young core that will be hitting its prime years after Bogans retires, has no designs for utilizing Keith Bogans, the player. This is part of the reason why they sent Keith home on Wednesday.

From a team press release:
The Boston Celtics announced today that guard Keith Bogans has been excused from the team indefinitely for personal reasons. Bogans remains under contract with the Celtics during this time.
There’s not much more to add to this, especially two weeks after writing over a thousand words on the subject. Bogans could make in upwards of nearly $16 million between now and 2016 if teams choose to pick up his contract option in order to create more deals like the Garnett and Pierce back and forth, but more than likely he’ll be released by the Celtics after they offer his potentially expiring deal around the league this summer.
Bogans has played twice since coming clean about wanting to play basketball with Boston, scoring 12 points on 3-4 shooting in a combined 27 minutes in contests against the Thunder and Nuggets, but the Celtics have no real use for him in their rotation.
Now, it appears, they have no real use for him in their locker room.

I just want them playing together more and more minutes for the younger players in general. It's really not necessary to ride the vets to oblivion. Let this team build confidence and chemistry for the future. If they win games, great. That means that the future is bright since all 5 starters are still at the beginning of their careers. I would go Core5 to start and finish every single game from here on out.

Also...

27-year-old Jeff Green is averaging 33 minutes per game.
28-year-old Brandon Bass is averaging 29 minutes per game.
31-year-old Gerald Wallace is averaging 22 minutes per game.
25-year-old expiring Jordan Crawford is averaging 31 minutes per game.

The Celtics don't have young talent getting loads of minutes at the expense of vets.

Not to mention Kieth Bogans averaged about 3 ppg over his career. Not playing him is like not playing Otis Thorpe.

If Lindsey believes he may get assets for either Marvin or Jefferson (no idea if he does), I have no problem with the current minute allotment. Another clever move by Lindsey would change a lot of tunes very quickly. Honestly at a decent price I wouldn't even mind having Marvin stick around.

I do hope there is a trade in the works. Just over a month before the deadline.

Do The Celtics even have young talent? I think they have one lottery pick on the team with less than 4 years experience - Kelly Olynyk. And I don't think he's on anyone's depth chart close to a Favors or Kanter.

That's because you have a brain in your head; Corbin does not.

If Celtics have 5 lottery picks, Celtics would hype them into All-Star-Caliber players.
