Gay marriage in Utah put on hold

Legislation shows it has already been decided.

Because legislation should never, ever change...As society, economics, technology and a dozen other factors change it necesitates updating our legislation. Almost nothing is a once decided, always decided when it comes to legislation.

The "will of the people" is determined by vote and not some unofficial poll of 100 people.

Utah Constitutional Amendment 3 is an amendment to the Utah state constitution that sought to define marriage as a union exclusively between a man and woman. It passed in the November 2, 2004 election, as did similar amendments in ten other states.

You realize that homosexuals are asking the judiciary to override "our will" in order to force the government to recognize their relationship as a "marriage" so they can file jointly on their taxes, force employers to cover their sexual partner on insurance, etc.

Just like 13 states (or more?) had their will overturned in 1967, forcing governments to recognize relationships as marriages so they could/can file jointly on their taxes, force employers to cover their sexual partner on insurance, etc. Do you believe Loving was incorrectly decided?

I understand your frustration. It is the same one I have with Warmiacs/Darwiniacs.

Well, except that warming is really occurring and has been observed and measured, and evolution is really occurring and has been Observed and measured, while you have no examples at all of churches being forced to recognize homosexual marriages, for one major difference.

It is a prediction about the future, Sherlock.

And as I have already shown the "will of the people" In Utah and nation wide has changed since then.

It hasn't changed enough if a split poll of 600 people really reflects a statewide shift. The poll would be more compelling on that score if it had been conducted on the same 600 people during both time periods.

Polls are more about influencing then gauging opinion.

Lol, so basically you won't count them as the will of the people. Got it. The trend clearly shows that te "will of the people" is siding against you and will continue to do so on this issue. I expect similar trends in marijuana legalization.

I'm an active Mormon but the fact that a gay couple cant marry in a Church building but a guy who just killed his whole family can have his funeral their is retarded.
