*******Trolls*****Please don't turn this into another Corbin, RJ, Marvin, Hayward hatefest. You know who you are, please keep it civil.*******

I want to put together a collection of .gifs of Alec's passing improvement this season. If you have good ones in mind then let me know and I'll throw them in here if I can find video of it.

Alec is at 3.6 assists/36 minutes. I think he can get that up to 5 in a couple years, which would make him a pretty nice complimentary piece.

I was not a fan of the pick at the time. Was a huge Kawhi Leonard fan and thought that Burks was a reach at the time. I saw him more as a backup than a legit starter. Happy to say that I've completely changed my mind. He's improved his game in many aspects and looks to be an exciting and dynamic player who is still developing. He has a chance to be special, and I'd love to see him, Hayward and Burke starting together to see how those three pieces can fit together moving forward.

The trick is designing an offense that can effectively utilize Alec, Trey, and Gordon together, spreading out shot attempts and allowing each of them to handle the ball in certain sets.

Very encouraging to see Alec developing a bit more this year. All he really needs now is a few % points higher from 3 and he can be a very solid piece.

Definite improvement. His rookie year he had a worse assist/minute rate than Al Jefferson. Now he's 4th in assist/minute on the team after Burke, Garrett and Hayward.

I really think Burks could help Hayward, and Burke in the starting line up. It would take some pressure off of Hayward, and Burks could also drive making the defense collapse and then pass out to Burke or Hayward. Burks as really been the player who has improved the most this season, it's great to watch.

I think if Burks continues to improve his handles, shot, and vision, then he should be doing more initiating and leaving Hayward to spot-up on the perimeter. Hayward can't really finish well around the rim, and can't get as deep into the defense as Burks, which really makes me think that Burks is better suited to play this role in the long run.

I know its not popular opinion, but I like Alec in the Manu role off the bench putting up big numbers and not having to compete for touches. He needs the ball in his hands frequently to be effective. I do prefer him at the 2 as well. I always enjoy the analysis w/gif threads. Nice post.

Several hours and no Colton fix yet. tick tock tick tock.

I think he's up to 53 TS% and rising. If he ups that to 57% then he's putting up absolutely solid offensive #'s.

This. I think it's getting closer than most realize. Burks has to show consistently solid play first, and he's doing it some.

Reporting for threads***ting dooty, sir!

It actually is popular opinion. Thanks for the complements too.

I liked Burks from day one. What I saw in him was elite quickness that reminded me a little of Michael Jordan and I thought that this could be developed into making him a big-time scorer. The problem has been Corbin who has not done a good job of developing him.

I agree that Burks has shown marked improvement in his vision of the court. I have been very impressed with him and like him as the 6th man as well.

Has Burks court vision improved or is our offense just tailored to his strengths? Burke manipulates the D and anticipates passing lanes. I believe Burks is just be trained to using the passing lanes that the offense naturally creates. This is still and important improvement but Burks is a scorer first a playmaker a distant second.

To be fair and contribute, you're right. He's getting much better with that, and maybe trusting his team mates more. But in that first gif, he almost botched the pass... Wet bandit had to slide to the right a few feet to catch the ball.

The important part is that he drew the defenders in and then didn't try to take a very hard shot.

There's no point in driving when the engine runs great but it goes right when you spin the wheel left.

A couple things wrong with your criticism. 1. The pass got there without much trouble. 2. Marvin should have been sliding to where the pass was heading. Burks threw it to the correct spot.

Trying a new processor. Which one does everyone prefer?

This isn't just a simple post entry pass. The play was timed perfectly by Alec to put the ball in Favors hands at the right moment, & off the bounce to get into better passing position was a nice touch. Great overall team execution.
