The OFFICIAL don't draft Joel Embiid thread

No one cares that you'd take Jabari first-- BUT: people care if you say "don't draft Embiid becuz Thabeet and Sene". Why do people care? Cuz that's the ****ing most stupid justification I've seen so far this year-- and now you're playing the "everyone just has it out for me" card?

Stupid justification? As opposed to intelligent ones you've offered? Look, we're all clueless about basketball here. If we weren't, we'd work for a basketball organization. Pretending like because you watch college ball and read ESPN, you have some arcane knowledge that beantown or I don't is pretentious beyond belief. It's like people who've read 3 articles on economics on wikipedia and argue endlessly in the general forum about how everyone else is stupid and they know economy.

To me, Embiid looks like an athletic, long big who can block shots and get some points around the basket. To you, he looks like a franchise cornerstone. We can argue all day about this, but don't pull the "my understanding of basketball is better than yours" crap(obviously, this isn't aimed at just you). That's both pretentious and ignorant.

Thabeet was supposed to be "the next great big man in the NBA".

Gets drafted behind another big.

When talking about "big men" in the NBA that refers to centers.

But to be fair I meant to say "the next great defensive big man". I never was saying he was the next Shaq, Duncan, Howard..etc...

Maybe you are right that we are all clueless about basketball but you are extra clueless.
You watched that highlight vid from the game against Oklahoma state and said it was all dunks and putbacks... He didn't even have any putbacks at all. Then you say his assist was actually an attempted shot that was an airball.... It was an obvious pass.
No mention of the blocks shots which is what actually took up most of the highlight video.

Jim, you are the king of us clueless folks

You have a really hard time being clear about things.
Try thinking about what you want to type before you actually type it out.

No...... I was having this discussion with BLine......try and keep up gramps. Turn up your oxygen tank.

No bro. You originally started the argument with me because you have poor reading comprehension. Go back and read it.

on the app. square bizness.

Everyone's wrong sometimes. You're wrong all the time. You come back despite continually embarrassing yourself. That you don't see the difference is itself yet another embarrassment.

For the record, I really liked Biyombo (and still kind of do). All people will see is that, even though all I said about Biyombo is that he'd be an extremely good defender and be able to dunk the ball. He's a good defender, he can dunk the ball. But yeah, I overshot how good he was (probably because DX did too, which has trained me to take more grains of salt with that site).

I also hated the Hayward pick, like most of the smarter Jazz fans. Additionally, most non-Jazz fans thought the pick was a reach and funny. It's worked out pretty well, because nobody knows the future. I also didn't think Millsap would ever be as good as he became (but have since repented), and thought CJ Miles would be the Jazz's best wing (at that time) after they matched OKC's offer. Whoops.

However, I also called that Brewer was a dead-end player and that Matthews was better than him after Matthews' second or third game. I called the Memo extension terrible and potentially catastrophic at the outset (and it was). I was on an island about Al Jefferson being a total piece of garbage basketball player when the Jazz acquired him and I was right. I also said Koufos was going to stick around in the league (and that the Jazz did a poor job of developing him) and I am right.

I'm fine with my track record, but I just wanted to throw out my doozies to show... uhh... good faith or something.

Ok, I don't know what you call a put back, but to me any shot made immediately after an offensive rebound is a put back. And since I didn't see him hit shots from that range, I can only assume that it's an airball. Especially since he went through a full shooting motion.

No mention of the blocks shots which is what actually took up most of the highlight video.

Because the rest of you are trying to argue that he's MORE than blocked shots. Good grief. Isn't that the whole point?

Its the draft retard...people are wrong all the time. Everyone as their own opinions.
