What's new

Random observations after looking over the stats for all Jazz players...

- CJ Miles is outperforming Raja in every statistical category except overall FG% (.408 compared to .405) and FT% (.92 compared to .84). Obviously Raja is a better on the ball defender even with his age getting up there, but should he really be playing 29 minutes a night to CJ's 23?

First off, I have to admit I almost puked when Utah brought back Bell. The only reason I didn't puke was because we desperately needed a decent 2 guard, and Kobe was trying to recruit him. Meanwhile, I've had many a nightmare of Raja chucking 15 shots a game and leading Utah to the chukkar NBA team sweepstakes.

I was wrong. I was quite doubtful at first, but IMO Raja has been nothing but a positive impact player for Utah this year. Whatever his %, I have been impressed with his willingness to pass first and shoot second. Consider me a former hater who is now a Bell fan. Ring the friggin' bell.

P.S. I agree that CJ needs and deserves more minutes. Guess I'm wishy-washy.

How does that fence post up your *** feel, flippy-flop.

I still have nightmares of the 04-05 season when Bell would shoot The Jazz out of games and then bitch and moan to the press how no one plays team ball.

This doesn't seem to be the case this year (although the supporting cast of characters is far superior now as opposed to then).

However, Bell still seems to get caught up in these personal battles that seem to take place outside of what is happening in the game; and result in fouls at the worst possbile moment. Case in point the game at Golden State where Bell decided he was going to get into in it with Monta Ellis down the stretch and apparently forgot The Jazz were trying to actually win a basketball game.

How do you figure?

Actually, thinking back on it it's probably a bit of hyperbole. But in general the guy was a sieve on defense. He didn't even try. Al may not be great, but he at least tries at interior defense and at times has caused problems for people in the paint. I'm not sure I ever saw Booze do that at all.

I love Jeremy Evans, he's my 2nd favorite player behind Deron. I think he can easily be groomed to take over a starting spot for AK at the 3 in a year or two and then he would grow into an even better version of the old AK that we all knew and loved.

While that would be awesome, AK at his peak is a pretty high ceiling. I love Evans, too. But I'm not holding my breath for him to turn into the old AK.

see why per isnt an absolute stat for a player greatness. by just watching the game with fes in there jazz seem to get more rebounds. sometimes he jumps en tips the rebound to a jazz player. but the epr does not acount for that.
or how about the intiimidation factor. like the flagrant foul. trust me some players especially the small lil ones like ceepee3 and other guards where intimidated no easy layups as fes showed

Actually, Jazz rebounding is the worst when Fes is on the floor.

azz have been at their worst on the defensive glass with Kyrylo Fesenko on the floor (57.9% def reb) (via basketballvalue.com)
