Gobert Needs Court Time

I think there is some merit to this post. A Gobert-Favor tandem would not have this problem. However, it would have a huge offensive liability as things stand now. I doubt Rudy will ever be much of an offensive threat -- you never know. But just imagine him and Favors in there protecting the rim, what a defensive combo.

Imagine if Gobert just gets the hook shot down, he'd practically just be throwing the ball down into the hoop. There's hope.

He also might be out of the league if he were handled differently.

On this we agree.

What about the rest of my post.

How are bell, miles, howard, watson, and foye doing for the jazz this year.

I dont have a problem with vets getting minutes ovet youth if those vets are better than the youth AND in our long term future.

If they are not better and part of the future then we are POSSIBLY sacraficing our youths development for nothing

Who cares? If the intent was to develop Burks, and Burks has developed to near the top of his expectations when he was drafted, then why do these playing times make a difference?

I hear Stockton and Malone haven't done much on the court for this year's club, either.

On the other hand, we are possibly enhancing our youths' development, which is the goal, by playing them the correct amount of time.

Everything you say is pure speculation and not based on experiential data. There is plenty of experiential data that shows that increased playing time results in improvement

It matters because most have the opinion that burks would be even better had he gotten more time.

You dont think so.

I definately value my opinion more than yours so it matters to me of course.

If you could prove that burks would be worse by playing more then i would agree with you, but you cant so i wont.

I can prove that those vets are not contributing to this team right now though.

No, there is no such experimental data, because NBA owners would never agree to participate in such an experiment, it could never be suitably blinded, etc.

There's plenty of data that shows a correlation between better play and more playing time. From what I can see, the causation flows the opposite way: as players play better, they then get more time.

Most of whom?

Again, if you look at the projections for Burks when he was drafted, he is near the top level of those projections in only his third year. Realistically, there would not be much better for him to have gotten.

I don't value my opinion at all. I'm talking about the opinions of the professionals back when Burks was drafted, compared to who Burks is today.

Hey Eenie. I think you hurt Franks feelings.

Just because I called him, Meathead. His defense of Corbin drives me batty. I can understand some of his points but he just takes it to an extreme and can't accept that maybe Corbin has some liabilities. I have disliked Corbin as a coach since his first season after Jerry. He made so many decisions that I disagreed with and preference of the vets was totally unacceptable to me under the circumstances.
