What's new

What do you guys think about Lance Stephenson?

Of course Hayward or his agent would not have stated that in writing or publicly. Using that logic, I could ask you to show me where Hayward or his agent said that they DIDN'T want $12M or more per year?

Based on the 10/31/13 Deseret News article by Jody Genessy:
"Hayward’s side was reportedly hoping to secure more than Favors’ salary but somewhere less than the $80 million maximum deal fellow 2010 draftee Paul George received this offseason."

Ya, that's the article I'm talking bout.

Laughable.

There's enough clues in that article to make a good guess on what the Jazz offered and what Hayward wanted. Anyway you slice it, Hayward wants more than what people are predicting Stephenson's price tag will be...now that is laughable.

As of right now, is there anyone who really thinks that Hayward is going to get more money than Stephenson this offseason? I'm not sure that he does. Stephenson has played at a higher level than Hayward has and the fact that Hayward is a RFA will likely drive his value down like it did last offseason. Maybe I'm wrong, but I think that LS makes more than Hayward does in free agency.

Stephenson's price might even go higher after the playoffs.

I think it is shameful that he cheated at that bike race thing.

I think you severely underestimate the stupidity of other NBA Franchises/GM's...somebody will offer Hayward $12M+/year, it's inevitable, just hope it's not the Jazz making that offer. I don't think Stephenson will command $12M/year, that's just my guess.

Yep. He's not a max guy, but I think he's about to get seriously paid. I have concerns about his attitude, but it seems that he's matured while in Indiana. I have a hard time thinking that he'd go to the Jazz unless they WAY overpay for him. Much more likely to get a defensive-minded wing like Luol Deng to pair with Burks and Hayward for a shorter-term lower (but still pretty pricey) contract.

Still think that this team will keep Gordon Hayward and hope the next coach can get more production out of him.
