Google Fiber possibly coming to Salt Lake City

First Provo, and now Salt Lake City. It's nice to see Google showing Utah some love. It will only happen within the borders of Salt Lake City, and not the suburbs within Salt Lake County. It could potentially take up to 2 years before anyone in SLC could actually have the service installed.

Just be forewarned, anybody that steps inside a Google Van apparently loses all their ability to drive normally. And the Van swarm is all encompassing.

It has to be noted that google fiber is not "coming" to SLC. They will start studies and work with the city to see if it is feasible. It's not even "intention to build", its "intention to look into potentially building it sometime in the future". If they bring it to my street i am willing to go as far as paying myself to dig up my lawn and run it from the street to the house though...

Hence the word "possibly" in the topic title.

WhatsApp doe?

$19 billion, thats up. Damn! 3 bil for RSU for the employees. Lucky ********!

Sorry, couldn't resist.

I don't get it. I have the regular Century Link crap that everyone else has and there is nothing that my slow-*** computer can't do with that internet speed. I don't buffer Netflix, I can stream games, etc. with no problems.

Why does everyone have an e-boner for this fiber nonsense?

Some of us are scraping out a living on computers.
