It seems quite likely that the Jazz will end up drafting somewhere between the 5th and 8th pick in the draft. That being the case, we'd likely miss out on Jabari, Exum, Wiggins, and Emiid. Perhaps even Randle if we are out of the top 5.

Watching the last few games it has become so apparent that we need a star in the 4th quarter. We need a guy that can flat out score. Let's say you believe Jabari, Wiggins, Or Exum is a legit #1 option. How much would you be willing to give up.

Say, for instance, that Orlando comes to you the day of the draft and says Hey we have the #3 pick and you have the number 6 pick. We'll give you the 3rd pick in the draft for the 6th pick, Kanter, GSW pick 2014, GSW pick 2017, and your pick next year. Would you do it? Would it be worth it. Just imagine.

Starters:
Trey Burke
Gordon Hayward
Jabari Parker
Derrick Favors
Rudy Gobert

Bench:
Alec Burks
Raul Neto
Jeremy Evans
Marvin Williams

Personally, I am somewhat conflicted because I like Kanter but at the same time, we need a star and I don't think we have one yet.

Discuss what you would be willing to give up for a shot at Wiggins, Parker, or Exum.

We are just as likely to not end up where you are saying we may. But to answer your question, Id give up Kanter, rights to raul, all of our picks this year and our pick next year for Wiggins or Parker. However if I could guarantee id end up with Marcus Smart at 6, i'd stand pat. Marcus Smart will be a star.

For a top 3 pick, I'd give up Kanter, Burks, the GS pick, our pick this year.

Because, without that #1 guy, it doesn't matter who #2, #3, #4, etc is. We are a 5-10th place team in the West.

Because the top-3 are all GUARANTEED to be superstars and #1 options.

I'd trade a pick in the #6 range plus a future first for a veteran #1 option from a team looking to rebuild.

I pretty much agree with this. Kanter has talent - but I just don't see him as a starting PF on a top 4 team. I'm a charter member of the Burks Fan Club; but if you can get Parker/Wiggins for Burks then sayonara.

I only look at the GS pick as an asset to trade for something else. I have little interest in what player it would get Utah in the draft. I hope Jazz management sees it the same way.

ditto on Kanter.
I like him and he has some upside
but he is not "the" star Jazz need desperately.
so he is expendable, if this move will bring a super talent to Utah.

Kanter has to leave and Gobert would start? Are u kiddin'?. In addition to that you are willing to overpay Gordon Hayward?Thats not very smart. Marvin should start instead. I would trade Enes and the Jazz Pick in a heartbeat for Jabari or Wiggins. Maybe even Embiid. Everyone is complaining about the spacing problem but you are ready to start Gobert or Embiid next to Favors? The question is also would the other Gm take the offer from the Jazz? In my opinion Dante Exum will not be better than Alec Burks. The fact Exum dominated FIBA youth competitions tells nothing because Kanter killed FIBA youth competitions and Nike Hoop Summit too...

For a true #1 option? Easy answer: anyone and everyone. You can build around that guy. It would not likely take all of the core5 but any part going away for a number one? get it done!

I am talking long term plan with Gobert; next 3 to 4 years or so. Not so much just next year.

Also, It really doesn't matter how much you spend on Gordon Hayward. We have to spend that money on someone (and let's not kid ourselves: We are not gonna net a great guy in free agency) and let's say we land Jabari or Wiggins and they become a star, Gordon's contract will be up by the time we have to pay our big stud.

Also, You are wrong about Exum. If he stays healthy, he'll get to the rim at will in the NBA. Eat Crow!! (just playing man. I've always wanted to say that!! ;))
