This is revisionism. Ty was known as an "up and comer" who would have been interviewed for other coaching vacancies had Jerry not left. This is why coaches get recycled, because giving the keys to a newcomer is generally a crap shoot. I think two of the things that he had going for him at the time were continuity with the team and the fact he was black. It was of course unstated, but the statement of having a black head coach for the Utah Jazz was probably given at least a little consideration, given the scrutiny the Jazz have faced in the past. I'm not saying that scrutiny was warranted, but it was definitely there. Ty has done enough that he can probably get an assistant's job or coach at the NCAA level and maybe even get a second shot after a few years. Not much shame in that. Phil Johnson was an NBA coach of the year before he became a long time assistant.
I think last night was the last straw Corbin had in coming back. After that game, I don't see how you can bring him back.
You really think Jazz was trying to win that game? Gobert, JLIII, that No. 21 whats-his-name, Rush, all saw increased minutes.
Ty's in on the tank, no question about it.
They were completely totally out of it by the time those guys got in. Ty is trying to win every game.
Did you watch the game? They were in in the 2nd Quarter. Wayyy before things got out of hand in the 2nd half.

Sloan didn't leave on very good terms, LHM before he died always said Johnson would replace Sloan after Sloan chose on his own to ride into the sunset. Johnson left because of what went down between Jerry, Deron, and management.Johnson was leaving whenever Sloan did. The way he left had nothing to do with it.

Clark entered when they were down by 22, Rush down by 24, Gobert down by 35.

We saw a lineup I don't think we ever saw, basically Kanter and scrubs, and the jazz were only down by single digits at the time and left them there most of the quarter. A coach trying to win doesn't do that.
The Line up was Garrett, Clark, Jefferson, Evans, and Kanter. So our regular unit to start the second quarter that Ty always throws out there other than Alec who had 2 fouls. So yes that line up is never used but it was only one player different from the normal lineup that plays the first part of the 2nd quarter
