Following potential 2014 draftees

I'd be very very happy getting Gordon at #6.

But to pick him over Wiggins, Jabari, Embiid, Exum and Randle (in that order) would be reaching, IMO.

I agree.

But the bandwagon I've seen over the past week or so for Gordon has reached silly heights.

As badly as we need to improve on defense we need to bring in a go to player. A franchise offensive player that we can run our offense through. I'd feel a lot more confident in our future going with Parker, Wiggins, or Randle than with Gordon.

I'm pretty sure EVERYONE (except maybe Cy) would take Wiggins and Parker over him. Randle scares me a little but I would think he would fall in the tier with Gordon and Smart and it's mostly a matter of preference.

I put Gordon over randle for the jazz because I think Gordon can play the 3. randle is a pure 4.

I also agree completely with pkm that Gordon begins to give the jazz an identity. defense.

What happened to the Vonleh hype lol. I'd be happy if we drafted him at 5/6.

I like vonleh a lot but his passive nature worries me some. he is very similar to favors with a lot better range. he would help with a team identity but chances are the jazz would have to trade kanter but what small forward could the get. deng?

Agree with most people in this thread on Gordon.

1-3, you don't even consider him. Wiggins, Parker, Embiid - in some order. 4 and beyond, it's a matter of preference. You can make an argument for any of the next tier - Randle, Gordon, Smart, Exum, Vonleh. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

the thing that gives me cold feet about Gordon is his touch around the rim

ive always despised Jared Jeffries, after Isaiah Thomas signed him to a 6 year 30mil contract on the 2006 knicks(to defend 2-4).. he was atrocious and constantly missed layups and easy shots. of all the ****ty Offensive wing players ive seen Jeffries really stands out so i use him as the bottom of the scale

and im worried Gordon ranks somewhere on the scale of Jeffries ineptitude, he misses bunnies.. sometimes he really clanks them too

MPG- PPG FG% 3FG% FT% APG RPG BPG SPG
32.6 13.8 44.2 24.5 62.0-- 2.4- 6.9 1.2 - 0.9 - jeffries frosh #'s
31.2 12.4 49.5 35.6 42.2-- 2.0- 8.0 1.0 - 0.9 - gordon's frosh #'s

its not so much about efficiency or %'s that im worried about(as he will pad his stats in transition/on putbacks/lobs), its simply will he be too predictable in the halfcourt without a 3point shot or mid range game to keep defenses honest

He put a finger roll in the last game that was unbelievably easy looking. Cold feet denied.
