Following potential 2014 draftees

the second half of the Memphis game was really his best moment

hes interesting could end up being a guy like JJ Hickson. might not declare this year unless he feels hes top 17

I see Kanter as a player who could be considered part of a Big Three. He's got nice quickness, motor and court awareness for a guy that size. He's got a nice mid-range game developing, with a jumper out to 20+ feet. He can rebound and play decent position defense. Plus, he's got nice post moves. I think he can be our 2nd option, our Kevin McHale so to speak, once we get a first-option scorer.

Hayward will also flourish as a third option. He just forces too much when he tries to be a first-option or second option.

Burke will basically be the player he is now, playing both on and off the ball. He'll just gain maturity and confidence.

If we add Wiggins or Embiid to this group, we can fill in the gaps with Favors as a defensive center or by adding a 3/D SF.

I just don't know what the hell a 'meat center' is.

Well someone who's not clogging the paint by being tall and altering shots, but having a big, strong body. Think Ben Wallace or Kendrick Perkins or JJ Hickson, who's a good comparison IMO. meat center is something I invented to describe slow footed human meat shields. In this case the guys have spent so much time in the weight room that they're getting slow. Plus being 6'8 and not being able to guard screen play out and not being able to guard faster PFs who can put it on the floor doesn't help.

Wiggins, despite his inconsistency, is the complete package. He has the potential to be great on both ends of the court...he's also the only player in the draft that can really say that.

Parker is excellent on offense, below-average on defense.

Gordon is excellent on defense, below-average on offense.

Randle is quite good on offense, below-average on defense.

Embiid is a game changer on defense, and his offense is ok. Embiid has the best chance after Wiggins at being able to positively affect both ends of the court.

It seems like Exum also has a chance at being a good player on both sides, but it's hard to say considering the competition that he has played.

Every top player has some concerns, so it really just comes down to who fits your team the best and what style you want to play. It's also difficult for us as fans, because we don't know who our coach will be or what style we will play. I think that pairing Parker with an effective post defender could work. I think pairing Gordon with a real stretch 4 could work. Wiggins and Embiid will work with anybody, Randle needs a quality post defender to pair with him. It will be easier to say once we know where we're picking.
So which type of these are easier/more realistic/cheaper to get via free agency in the next years?

So your saying we've gotta chance. Ping pong balls never go Jazz way. Maybe it's time.

Actually I think the Jazz moved up in the lottery the year they drafted Kanter. However, for the most part the Jazz have gotten screwed by coin tosses over the years.

Was just hypothetically speaking what player you'd have to offer to walk away with a healthy Embiid. Our current draft position makes it more likely that we end up with Gordon and trade for Embiid.
TLDR Don't see either scenario happen!

Right now the Jazz are tied with Boston at the 4th spot with Boston having two games with Philly. I think the Jazz have to drop a few spots to be in the Gordon drafting position. The Jazz will still have a legitimate shot at Embiid if they are in the top 3 and maybe 4. No one knows that much about Exum so if he comes in and blows people away then he could be a top 3 guys. A few GMs already have him there.

We could have seen Gordon vs Randle.

****

Randle is an Alpha, a difference maker, a go to guy. He was the MOP of the region. Gordon is just another cog in the machine. IOW, there's a reason Randle is still playing and Gordon isn't. And it isn't because Kentucky is a better team than Arizona.

I like Randle too. Think he will be terrific.
Especially after the reports with him and his mom.
Seems like a good character guy.
Just wondering how he gets time with Favors, Kanter, Gobert, etc.
