Jazz claim Erik Murphy off waivers (and waive Biedrins)

He can hit the three as a PF. Actually, his jump shot is a thing of beauty. And coming from Chicago, he's probably as good a defender as he will have the capacity to be.

His shot will not get off until he is WIDE open, just look at how low he brings it, and how long that pumping motion is.

Don't really care for this pick up. We've got too many PF's and C's as is. Kanter needa to be allowed to shoot the 3's, because he CAN make them. The perimeter game was a part of his game before being drafted. Why outsource? Why clog up the big man rotation anymore when Gobert doesn't play, Evans rarely plays, Kanter only gets 26 mins in his 3rd year, Favors inly gets 30, they were unwilling to trade Marv, and that Thomas guy DL picked up doesn't play!?!

I'm not a San Antonio fan. I don't want my Jazz to copycat the Spurs. I want a GM with his own original blueprints to make a successful team. We don't need a Bonner player. If anything we should just develop Kanters ability to dial up from behind the arch. I'm worried about Dennis Lindsey and his decision making abilities. We don't need to pick up all these SanAntionio type cast offs.

Did any of this come out of DL's mouth?

"Whether by the mouth of Dennis Lindsey or by the mouth of JazzFans, it is the same."

Don't agree with the idea Kanter has to shoot more threes.
Just because he can doesn't mean he should.
He's a low post beast who should be wearing out defenders and getting everyone in foul trouble.

Lindsey picked up another asset for nothing, Murphy has an un guaranteed contract for next season.

You know this team could be interesting if they wanted. But they're not, because they are inexplicably stuck on the 8 man rotation right now, with some players wedged into roles and starting spots.

I would like to see mr. Murphy play with Thomas or Gobert and some of the regular a guards.

WE NEEDZ TO MAKE THE PLAYOFF PUSH.
8 MAN ROTATION FRO THE WIN!!!!!!!!

seriously tightening up the rotation come playoff time is also what poppovich does

Well…he's a white PF. Can't defend much, slow, definitely not athletic.

Perfect fit for the Jazz.

Great move because Thomas was also a diamond in the rough who just needed some playing time in order to make an impact. Only thing to be said is that this guy is better than Biedrins and can be waived when the Jazz discover what Chocago likely already has: namely, he's a 4-yr college guy who has hit his ceiling and isn't really at an NBA talent level. But at least the Jazz are willing to bring in players for a look.

THREE buzzer beaters for Aaron Harrison in five games. Here are THE LAST two.

Just what we need with the GS pick: another Burke clone - i.e. a guy who will go 4-15 but hit a shot in the 4th. Because it doesn't matter if you shoot 30% as long as you are "clutch" in the 4th. The rest of the team can shoot 50% to cover your $%# for all the earlier bricks.

you aint gotta be a dick though.

yea we wouldn't want to be like the spurs. Heck they've only won 4 championships and like 6 Finals appearances. Why would any team want to be like the Spurs? You are aware that SA has said they wanted to be like the Jazz when the Jazz were dominating them. in the late 80s and early 90s. Unfortunately they took it to a higher level and actually won championships.

Just because he signs a guy who can shoot it from outside doesn't mean he is copying the Spurs. Murphy might not even be good enough to play in the league but how does it hurt the Jazz to bring in another young player who has a skill that they are short on and give him a shot to see if he can become a Bonner type player. It is not like he is replacing anyone who was contributing. I think it is a smart move and shows that DL is always trying to improve the team. Regardless, if anything comes of this at least he is looking to try new things.

My apologies. And congrats to the UK team (and fans). Kentucky has caught fire when it's mattered most. And 3 last second shots to win is certainly what makes the tourney exciting.

Thanks. I'll consider forgiveness.

OK, go Wildcats!

And by that, I mean my daughter's soccer team. :p

Seriously, I'm not a fan of either team. I'm just hoping for an entertaining game.

Mr. Murphy was drafted right after our point guard in the second round. Pierre Jackson was taken ahead of both. Man a lot of the guys taken in the 2013 draft pictures are on milk cartons. It's time to play Murph, Clark, Gobert, Thomas and Jeremy some minutes and see what they can do the rest of the way.

Biedrens, we hardly knew you! I think Utah did Biedrens dirty a little bit, by not releasing him before the deadline and allowing him to be picked up by a playoff team. It's not like the situation with Raja Bell, where they released him late to spite him. Biedrens seemed like a good and quiet guy. Not saying a playoff team would pick him up, but he should've gotten a chance to revive his career or be a 3rd/4th big for a team down the stretch. Maybe OKC would have wanted him?

I kind of don't think Biedrens cared. He can go home and have "flu like symptoms" while enjoying a European spring and summer until signing a Euroleague contract for a million bucks next fall.

I'm pretty sure what happened was Biedrins died in the locker room back in December and they just noticed.
