What type of asset is Hayward?

So by saying that burks should take Hayward's minutes, what exactly did you mean? I mean, you have, as you stated, watched more basketball than all of us, so you should know that a player who plays around 30 minutes a game can't really play that much more. So when you say burks should get Hayward's minutes, do you hunk burks is some kind of superman and can play more minutes than actually exist in a game? I mean, how many triple overtime games have you seen in your huge sample size if basketball games?

Gordon Hayward 36.2 min
Alec Burks 27.7 min

I will try and say this really slow.

If.........Alec..............takes.........Gordons.........minutes...........then.............Hayward ..........would............get..........Burks...........minutes. .........Alec.........would.............start............and...........Gordon............would..........come .............off.........the................bench.

If you disagree with that ok. It is however possible for them to switch roles and it's not that hard of a concept to grasp.

My problem is that I'm not sure Hayward is worth paying 10 per to come off the bench.

Ok. Whatever.

But there is no way in hell burks should be taking minutes from Hayward when we have a perfectly horrible Richard Jefferson to hold the bench down.

Why is he going to come off the bench?

Argh. He isn't a SF. He is a SG. Burks is a SG.

Finally, my last argument for letting Hayward walk:

This league is trending towards a 2 PG league. Do you want a backup SG that keeps you from getting better? That keeps you from being able to evolve quickly with the league?

I don't see how Hayward improves THIS team. He is a fine player. He just isn't a good fit here.

But, I could be wrong. Looks like I was wrong on Burks.

Why is he going to come off the bench?

Because he isn't a starter for this team.

It's pretty simple. If you want to start Kanter and Favors, then you need to have a SF that can shoot the hell out of the ball. Otherwise, defenders are going to cheat (ex utah jazz under the AK47 regime). If you want to start Hayward at the SG spot, then you're insane because Burks is a superior player at the SG than Hayward. The only other spot is at PG. So bench Trey and play Hayward at the PG spot.

IMO, the jazz would be better off next year rolling with Kanter/lotto pick (Gordon/Randle) and Favors at the 4 and 5. Start the double Bs in the backcourt. Then draft young, Early, or Michigan's sensation at the 3. If Hayward wants to come off the bench and fulfill a. Manu Ginobli like role (6th man and primary ball handler) to initiate our offense when Trey is out, that's fine. Otherwise, he really doesn't have a role on this team since he cannot play with our front court due to his own lack of shooting. Less WOW and raiding the preschools and more 3 pointers. Sorry, but the inability to consistently keep defenses honest really hinders our 2 low post players.

We either get a shooter to replace Hayward or unload one of our bigs. But we can't keep trying to jam the ball down low while Hayward's defender can easily cheat since he doesn't respect Hayward's shot. We've tried this before. It didn't work.

Ok. Whatever.

I would have liked to see Hayward start at the three and Burks at the 2.

That being said if I had to choose between them at the 2 I would take Burks.

The league is not trending toward a 2 PG league at all.......

If that's true then we need to really consider shelling out at least $40 million for burks. He and Trey are essentially 2 PGs. No one else on this team can create, attack the rim, and get to the line like Alec.

Yet another reason to let Hayward walk.

Let Alec attack, slash, get to the FT line. Let Trey do his thing. our SF cast away in a matrix/Battier/Seattle Rashard Lewis like role while keeping the defense honest.and favors and kanter smash people down low.

Hayward and our first pick to move up.

1) Is it even possible/ within the rules?

2) Would any team bite?

example

Hayward/Randle to the Bucks for Wiggins/garbage.

I don`t say much here but here it goes. what I see is that Corbin haven't figured out how to utilize the players he has and to put them in position to exceed. just my two cents. so tell me where I`am wrong.
