What are WE (Jazzfanz) looking for in a new coach?

Lots of names being bandied about for our new HC. Some are backing their fav's, some just want a NAME coach, some (like me) want a great young coach who can stay here for years and years. This all begs the question of what type of coach we all think is the best fit. A Defensive guru, a players coach, a PR type with a glib tongue, a real X and O's coach, some one with local ties, or think out of the box and try something unheard of, like a certain Italian coach currently in Moscow. What attributes do you think are critical for success? Does the guy you want have those attributes? To me a great HC has a lot of similarities to a great TV evangelist, you know, make everybody really believe in his methods but his methods must jibe with today's NBA and what will succeed in the real world. List the attributes you think the guy should have and defend your choices based on the perceived attributes. What type of offensive philosophy should he have or is his defensive program paramount.

To me, i am worried that interviewing 20 plus candidates could seem to indicate that Management is unsure of where they are headed, or are they just being exhaustively thorough in their search?

I'd like a coach with real experience, and who's been around the block a time or two, who also actually has an offensive system, a real X's and O's type of coach. I want someone who can just be a true teacher to the young guys and manage ego's, and someone who runs a tight ship. I'm not high on coaches that are buddy buddy. Want someone tough and big on discipline.

Just re-read my post. Does this coach even exist?

John Wooden - ten NCAA national championships

Phil Jackson - eleven NBA Championships - one time NBA coach of the year

Gregg Popovich - four NBA Championships - three time NBA coach of the year

Is it too much to ask for a basketball genius that can finally get the Jazz to the promised land?

A neurotic midget who is firm, but has a sense a humor. A willing scapegoat when things go wrong. Someone kind yet has a mean streak. A man who can change the world, or get a team to play defense. Someone who is straight, but has a huge gay fanbase. Mildly intelligent yet good looking. Must speak Spanish. Must be ok with headbands. Well endowed yet not cocky. Must be able to dance. Must be able to make us beat the Warriors. Must have a hidden piercing. Must love Alec Burks. Currently disease free. Must hate Franklin, but love and read Jazzfanz. Must not have a mental illness, but can hear voices if self controlled. Must be liberal, and not shy about it. Must smoke marijuana. Must hate ****ty domestic beer. Must love Utah, but never openly admit it. Lastly, and most important must make us forget about Corbin.

Shaka Smart?

Defensive Guru who implements more of a transition run and gun offence. I'd like us to take more shots earlier in the clock. I'd also like to see a half court offence that makes use of the corner three.
20 more shots a game at least. Let these kids have fun on offence learn from their mistakes but take no prisoners on defense.
