Ex Jazz Men doing well in Playoffs - Whose Fault?

If someone already made this comparison and posted this I apologize. I have been thinking about this for awhile but been too lazy to post it and didn't want to start a thread for it and this thread is a good example of what I'm talking about (even if the OP was being somewhat sarcastic).

What would the Jazzfanz be doing if we were in IND shoes.

People here are pining for and would go bat **** crazy if Frank Vogel (myself included) is the next Jazz HC. But how much would he be getting killed for the collapse right now. Playing Hibbert too much, not adjusting to small ball, not taking advantage of Hibberts size, how George Hill has been playing poorly, how they finished the season in such a huge tail spin and epic collapse, Paul George's regression in the final month or so of the season, not being able to keep the team together and a winning team at that, losing control of the locker room, players seemingly quitting on him. I could go on but I think you get my point.

Then there would be another faction that back the coach but would blame one or more of the players.

First would likely be Hibbert (which is hard for me to think of anything to defend him), saying he's out of shape and mentally weak, others saying he's needs to want the ball to get going, yet others would say he should focus on the defensive so the offense can just come to him.

Paul George - Who actually got max money and now can't handle the contract, or got max money and is not worth the contract, he's trying to hard to live up to the contract and let it effect his offense that has now carried over to his D, he was given his contract on potential and obviously can't fill that potential, etc...

The GM - He shouldn't have made the trade and gotten rid of Danny Granger it messed with good chemistry and that's when the losing streak started, he should have made more trades to help for the final push, he should've gotten more for Granger, he should'nt have Traded for Evan Turner he's the reason the chemistry got ruined, etc...

Man this seemed a lot shorter in my head and I've only done half of it.

I wouldn't complain.


They still have Larry Legend who knows what he's doing. Paul George if you don't like him well he's got a truck load of trade value. The same goes with Hibbert and West.


There's still so much to get excited for - the wheel seems to have come off the tail end of this season - but you're still driving Ferarri - just get some new tyres.

The only guy you can fault Ty for is DeMarre whom Ty shafted for Marvin. This was such an obvious error and you could tell even the average fan saw this by the way they cheered when DeMarre would finally enter a game. But as we know we had already committed to Marvin salary-wise and let DeMarre walk because of this. The FO and Ty share equally in the blame for this.

So - whose fault was it that the Jazz didn't utilise them well here in Utah?

DWill, Korver, Koufos and Wes didn't play under Corbin.

Ty gave Demarre a legitimate shot to play, unlike his previous coaches, and Demarre played well for the Jazz.

Millsap showed he was a legitimate starter under Ty; Jefferson was Jefferson under Ty. These guys haven't evolved into drastically different players this year.

Mo arguably played better for the Jazz than he has for the Blazers. Unfortunately, he was handling starting PG duties for the Jazz. He's much better coming off the bench, as in Portland.

Regular rotation, my ***. He played him, yes, and when he showed his merit, Ty still kept him on the bench most of the time.

Wesley Matthews played for the Jazz during the 09-10 season. Ty didn't get the head coaching job until 2011.

No where was this more the case in that Playoffs series vs Spurs. DeMarre got shafted from Ty when Josh Howard got the start at SF even though DeMarre had been ON FIRE. Howard was a great big flop that series. We got off to a bad start and the team never recovered. Ty went to the BIG lineup with Millsap at the SF but by that time it was wayyyyy too late.


Ty loving them "Vets" biting us in the *** yet again.

Deron Williams - Having the least impressive playoff performance of his career, statistically.

Al Jefferson - slightly better in some stat categories, worse in others. At least he's doing better at FT's than his 1/4, 25% performance against the Spurs in 2012. (That's right 4 games, 4 total free throws). Hasn't won a game.

Kosta Koufas? Seriously? He's averaging 2 pts and 1.8 rebs in 6 minutes a game in the playoffs. Boom bitches.

Wes Matthews is having by far his worst playoff performance ever. 35% FGs, 17% 3PTs, 0.37 Ast/TO ratio. "Killing it".

Mo Williams is doing alright in his role and the Hawks players are all doing excellent, so at least the OP's claim isn't categorically false. But I'm starting to wonder if he started this thread just to see if anybody would fact-check him.
