Re Draft of 2010

I think GVC brings up some good points to be optimistic about. I think it all starts with the kid's shot. If he can figure that out, then everything will sink into place. In order for that to happen he needs GAME TIME. period.

Thats what I hate. When you wait years for a lottery pick and then take a guy like Hayward and say wait a couple years is absurd. When you get a lottery pick, you want production immediately. You don't take a guy who is going to warm the bench like Hayward.

And I will eat crow if he ever amounts to anything

How many in that draft class would be starting for us and making an impact? Just curious.

The Jazz should experiment giving Hayward the ball to start the offense. Similar to the way DWill gives the ball to AK or CJ once in awhile to let them initiate something. Of course they usually don't, but maybe this is Hayward's calling. He was the man at Butler, not sure if he is being used properly as the 5th option. He rarely gets touches and just sets screens and runs around like a dam fool 20 out of 24 seconds in the possession.

He looked pretty bad tonight. In his defense, if you're trying to get a rookie's confidence going you may not want to put him on a guy like Vince Carter who will eat him alive.

I'm running out of ways to talk myself into Hayward, but I'll stick with the fact the kid's 20 and he played for Butler. The NBA game is a massive adjustment for him. He looks tight on open jump shots right now. I'm writing this year off, but I wouldn't be surprised if he can contribute later this year. Not hopeful, either. But I think next year he'll be a lot more comfortable.

Not hiding, but there simply isn't anything to say when he isn't playing. I still have faith, although I honestly thought he would play 10-15 MPG this year for us.

Me too. But like you said he hasn't been playing at all except for spot minutes. I don't think he's really looking for his shot very much but when he does play he is hustling and trying to make an impact in the game. Right now that's good enough because we don't need him to be a star for us at this point.

When is it time to call a spade a spade already? Sure, he might turn into something, but he was terrible tonight and had a negative impact on the game. His only positive stat was 2 rebounds in 18 minutes. The rest? 0-1, 0 pts, 0 asts, 1 TO, 4 PFs, +/- of -1. He was the only player in the starting lineup that wasn't double-digits in +/- and he didn't bring anything statistically or defensively. Granted, he had NO BUSINESS being matched up against Vince Carter, but come on.

I'll be the first in line to get my helping of crow when it's time. But he's been terrible.

Gordon, if you're reading this; just kidding. You'll be great, keep your head up.

Kinda hard to get shots when your teammates ignore you.
