Just thought the following video was an interesting take in how some Christians take their religion into their MMA fights and how some apply their MMA profession to their Christianity.

Looks very interesting, especially the part where they brought young boys into the game. The poor kid looked terrified, I'm not sure he quite believed God would protect him. But that's what faith is all about I suppose.

That's the part that I didn't want to comment on so as not to offend anyone. But I can't resist...

I think that is criminal child abuse. It's no different than not letting a child seek proper medical treatment because of faith-based practice. Very manipulative since most pre-teens/teens still can't think for themselves. I believe one can still be a Christian, or whatever religion they want, while still adhering to some scientific certainties like curable illnesses being attended to or not telling your 9 year old son God will protect him from being pummeled in a mixed martial arts cage.

I saw a documentary on HBO a few years ago called Hard As Nails. It is about this reformed bad boy who created his own ministry that's swept up a good part of teenagers in the NY/NJ region. It is a definitely a must-see. Here is a link to the trailer

God and religion have no place inside the octagon.

heck god has no place in any typ of sport.

so whenever you lose its because god answered the other guys prayers?

Faith isn't about testing god. We learn that in the end of Christ's 40 day fast as Satan tried to tempt Jesus. Faith is about following gods laws and building a relationship with god, not seeing if he will protect us from our selves. Faith is not stupidity.

Too often it is. I don't have a problem with faith per se but there be a whole lot of stupid faith out there imo. There really needs to be more religious folk callin other religious folk out on their crazy stupid nonsense.

Did you watch the trailer? I was referring to what the father was telling his young son.

At any rate, I guess I could have put it better. Because you're right, it's more about testing yourself.
