We have already tried the newbie, learn-on-the-job head coach. Could we please just bring in an experienced HC that can develop our young players NOW. We don't have another 3 years to waste while the coach learns his trade.

This is exactly what the Kerr and Kidd signings have done to damage the coaching profession. Ex-players now think they should go straight to the front. Watson MIGHT become a good head coach someday. When he signed with Utah, I remember there was even talk of him finishing out his career and then becoming "a" coach. Even Hornacek had a few years as a part-time and then bench coach before making the jump.

And yes, AKMVP, Watson could do a WHOLE lot worse than Corbin.

I think I sort of agree with this. But then again, Mark Jackson makes me think otherwise.

What exactly did Jackson do that says he's a great coach? He underachieved, for how good that team is.

Totally agree. Bring Watson in as an assistant. I think he will make a great head coach one day.
Our young guys are prime for an experienced head coach to lead them now. I think we will be slowing their growth by bringing in someone who is learning the ropes as he coaches. It will be hurting our window of opportunity.

The difference is the Warrior's core group is experienced vets, ours is not.

Anyone just see the report that Ollie is reportedly asking for $5M/per based on the contract given to Kerr? Figures he is worth more than Kerr as a coach with proven success.
Jazz may need to go to Plan B and bring in an inexperienced guy if they want to pay less than $5M/per for a contract shorter than 5 years.
