Actually there is little in christian teachings expressing the requirement to mourn anyone. In fact parts of the bible talk about not mourning any more, such as in Revelation, and Ezekial.

So yes, sometimes being part of a group helps you understand the beliefs better. I am sure it is just as good to get my info about muslims from my jewish friend who knows a lot of muslims as it would be to talk to a real muslim, right? And knowing several muslims and reading about their faith on wiki can make me just as much an expert on their faith as living it day in and day out, right?

You have a cute knack of taking a statement I make, and applying it in only the most extreme of circumstances. I know Jewish people who know many accurate facts about my faith, and I know Muslims who know an intense amount of Judeo-Christian theology. The world does not operate with extremes.

Instead of looking at the labels administered upon people, look at the statements that they are making. If they are accurate, who cares as to whether the person is a Christian, a Jew, a Taoist, or whatever.
 
Pill swallowing was a big one growing up until about 15 or 16. I had problems swallowing school food for some reason back then too. I remember what a pain in the *** it was to eat a corn dog for me. I don't know what was wrong with me. Now I take Iron pills and multi-vitamins daily just fine, but I'm kind of anti-pill still though for different reasons.

Um, aren't those examples the extremes? It seems the people of one group who know a ton about a different group would be a minoriy, i.e. extreme circumstances. Or are you saying that your circle of friends on average contain ordinary folks who just happen to know more about different religious groups on their own than the other group itself? If so then I guess that wouldn't be extreme, but that is extremely unlikely.

Also, how is "knowing many accurate facts" the same as living a religion day in and day out?

I think the pill thing is pretty common. Although it is really no different than swallowing a large mouthful of water when you think about it. But I know people who really struggle taking pills, like my wife and my daughter. It is this whole ritual thing to put the pill in, take a mouthful of water, lean forward then throw their head back like they are trying to throw it down there, then getting mad when it didn't "work". I have no problem with pills so I cannot related, but I do find it funny.

....I am so sorry for all the fuss about my statement on mourning AKMVP's passing! I have changed my mind. I would even be more than willing to attend his funeral......just to make sure he was dead!: ;)
