Following potential 2014 draftees

Everyone loves Lavine but feel he is several years away. I'd rather figure a way to grab him and bring him along slowly than to trade away picks for a vet. Regardless of who we choose this draft, we are still another year or two away from competing. I'd rather have an arsenal of desirable young assets to trade for that stud young vet a year or two from now than to trade picks for a vet for another meaningless season.

Agreed.

You and I actually agree.

Cool.

Yeah, and so someone else will fall to us. The way I look at it, there are still what would normally be late lottery type players available at 23 this year. Question is, who gets bumped down when Lavine gets bumped up? I love the kid, but he'll still have to develop. What teams will realistically invest in him?

To me, he's like the Kanter pick. Tons of upside, but not really sure how to put it all together yet. Teams have to be confident they have the right circumstance and mentors for him.

A team like the suns or grizzles. They have established teams and could use a potential player like Lavine and bring him along.

American Anthropology Association said "No".

Obviously there are varying degrees of defining science. I define science as the collection of information, the study of the same, and making hypothesized conclusions derived from the aforementioned. So based on my definition it is science.. but it clearly doesn't matter as it is whatever it is.

True. I see him mocked to Phoenix a lot actually. Dragic, Bledsoe, and Lavine could be a lethal pg-leaning combo guard line. If they take him, and keep the others, I'll be a little jelly.

The answer is without a doubt, 100% yes, Glen Davis could look like a Jeremy Evans tooth pick if you limited his calorie intake greatly.

I guarantee Glen Davis just hasn't or isn't trying hard enough to lose weight. It not easy, but definitely possible.
Look at what Perkins did when he put his mind to it.

It actually is kind of crazy to think that it isn't possible to lose weight. The human body weight has to come from somewhere. It isn't just appearing out of nowhere. Ever hear the phrase, you are what you eat? It's 100% true. Your body is built out of everything you eat. One cannot have body weight without eating enough food to sustain mass. It's just not scientifically possible.

So let me tell you this:
A good friend of mine is 6'3", 160 lbs. I'm 6'0 and 225, so obviously out of shape. My buddy is known for his endless appetite among other friends and his brother told me he's always been eating ridiculously much. So we know he's very light and eating a ton from our time together. Then I visit him for a week and stay at his place. He's basically constantly eating stuff and clearing his fridge. Mixing a lot of unhealthy and healthy stuff. I'm eating less than he does when we went for meals(He usually speculates to get some leftovers from my plate...) and almost nothing in between.

He does a little more sports in his spare time but not that significantly much more that it would explain his weight and my weight when comparing the amount of calories we eat on a daily basis. So I think people are predestined to become more fat than others when they don't watch their nutrition(I absolutely hate the word diet the way most of you guys use it on here) mixed with exercise.

I can't say what Glen Davis' situation is but it's possible that he'd have a lot of trouble getting into shape from my experience with how differnt people convert food.

There's probably a way to get it under control BUT if he'd constantly eat let's say 1000 calories less than his body needs per day during the regular season it would probably affect his psyche and physis because he's used to eating a different amount. So he'd have to fight a real uphill battle against both his natural tendencies(if they are in case bad) AND his habits of his last decade. Needless to say the communication between his body and brain wouldn't be automatic like StockMalone.

I for example when I'm very hungry and not interested in taking a meal always get a foul breath and extremely loud collywobbles?(never heard the word, it's what my translator suggests) which I both totally hate and feel ashamed of and then I usually give in and eat something to get it under control.

Also there's plenty of studies that show for example that kids that are born before their due date are less likely to be fat than kids that are born too late. So there's probably a pretty complex process that determines and constantly influences our metabolism and stuff.

I'll end this post by saying: I'm not saying that in any way you voiced an opposite opinion to a lot of things I wrote.
But it strikes me very strongly as if you're saying: If there's a will there's a way almost regardless to circumstances. And I'm just sharing my experiences which indicated for my understanding that circumstances do in fact matter a lot.

One more time.

The following statement is false:
Polynesians are more likely to get fat than other people.

How about we say:
Polynesians aren't more likely to get fat than other people if they take care of their nutrition in a way that they stay away from non-traditional food.

"I'm ready to step in and take somebody's job," LaVine said when I asked about how prepared he is for the next level.

During shooting drills, he nailed 14-of-25 NBA three-pointers, 14-of-18 jumpers off the dribble from 15 feet and 21-of-32 shots on the move from the same range.

Maybe trade 35 and 23 for LaVine??

Did he say that in public? I can imagine such a statement would rub off future teammates negatively. Wouldn't make him appear very smart.
In public statement I'd expect something like: I'm ready to show my future coach that I'm good enough to get playing time.

Ok.. I see ur starving for attn so i'll throw you a lifeline....

Yes it is... a science. Go on...

I honestly don't even know what anthropology is particularly. I know the name but never felt the urge to research what it's actually about.

I agree with your vision, but I thought I'd underline that particular sentiment. LaVine is a track star, and, as of now, not much else.

*sigh*

I agree.

Science is also looking deeper into why things are the way they are... not just "collecting information".

Ignorance is bliss and that in a nutshell is what/who NAOS/Huge-Size is.

NAOS is a ****ing *******.. but your description of 'science' is exactly fitting anthro.

I don't particularly like NAOS huge size, mainly because he seems to get very heated quickly, but in this matter he probably understands more than most of us, and particularly you. I get that you are trolling, but this whole thing you are running on about today with science vs not science is ridiculous and you should shut the hell up.

Tough day? Someone tell you you're not a SF?

So maybe Jabari has a predisposition to be a fatty if he does not work his *** off. But you know what else he has a predisposition to be? Tougher than hell. I have seen plenty of Polynesian kids take beatings like you would not believe, and not even be phased by all of it, and then go right back and beat the crap out if whatever gang/group they were in a fight with.
