If you go north on i15 for a measly 8 hours you will come to the delightful town of Craig. There is a most beautiful river that runs through, every time I drive by someones fishing it...and its in the mountans so, extra bonus.

Had to be in Vegas yesterday to take a few tests, so I made the most of my time there. Got on Google maps and also got some intel from a NV member of BFT who met up with me and brought along some kayaks. Found a nice little spot to crush LMB. I only had about three hours to fish, and it really picked up the last hour I was there. (got there at 8am, had to leave around 11:00) Didn't catch anything in the first hour, caught a few the second hour, and caught 10 or so the last hour. I was pissed that I had to leave, and seriously contemplated missing my test... Caught fish on a purple senko style worm, weedless on a Texas rig, an olive craw on a Texas rig, and the big producer for the day was a PB&J Wave Fishing 6" worm, fished Texas rigged. (they're having a massive sale, so click that link -- $1.25 per pack of 10 worms is insanity) I tried to fish for the bass with flies, although being in a kayak for the first time, I had a hell of a time keeping everything in order, so I fished mostly rod/reel. I also didn't get any pictures while in the kayak, since I'm a big fella and those things are small as ****. (phone in my pocket and there was no way I was getting it out without tipping over) I went back after my test (passed the hard one that I didn't think I'd pass, failed the easy one that I didn't really study for because it is easy -- dammit) and chucked from the shore a bit. Got a few, and here are the pics:

Big fish of the day maybe hit 15", the smallest was that little guy on the dry fly. (was going after carp, since they were plentiful, and was happy to get that little fellow) Most fish were right around 10 to 12", but they fought much bigger than they were. Hell of a fun day, and not bad for mid February.
 
Lake Mead, by the way. I also sent pictures to fishonjazz last night at like 11:30. That ambian. You know.
 
How warm was the water at Mead? I'm thinking of hitting up Quail this weekend, or going the extra few hours if water temps are high enough to justify it.

Probably too late on this post, sorry. Fwiw, I live 10 minutes from Quail and I won't go there for another two months or until the water is 52^ for at least three days in a row. I freaking hate that lake.

As for the tests... I killed the big general test, which is awesome because I studied my *** off for it and was still sure I was going to fail. I then proceeded to fail the state law test by 2. I didn't study that very much because the content is super easy and I passed all of the reviews and practice e tests with ease on the first tries. I was pissed. I scheduled another test for the next day, studied like a mad man for 12 hours, drove back to Vegas, took the test again, got the exact same score. Couldn't put my keys in the ignition to my car because my hands were shaking so bad. I haven't been that mentally and/or physically upset in my entire life and that is no exaggeration.

I get to drive down again tomorrow and F that test in the A. I will show no mercy.
 
What online school did you use Trout?

I remember there being some WTF questions on the state law part. Like, super specific stuff like actual dates things happened or something that nobody would remember.

Thats cool they don't make you retake both parts tho.

Oh. Honestly I had no idea you were trying to copy trout the last couple years. TBPFHWY, you'd make a damn good insurance agent if you could match his unreal job dedication.

I forgot about this thread. I meant to update it regularly so you all could see how awesome it is to live down here, but I've been catching so many that it just slipped my mind. I will try to do an updated post with many pictures for your viewing pleasure -- including a two day trip with Archibald Moses. Epicness.

Quickly; I fished in a Southern Utah Bass Anglers tournament at Sand Hollow yesterday, got lucky and paired up with the defending Angler of the Year, who has also won the last three club tournaments. I out fished him 19-5. Fish Boner ensued. (Like a shower boner, but different)

Went to buy some new polarized sunglasses planning on spending around 50 bucks.

Fell in love with these oakleys (jupiter) and ended up spending 200. smd
