Trade Idea: Jazz & Rockets

Mid-season trades will destroy this team's chance of getting anywhere during the current year. The Jazz's offensive and defensive rotations are way to complicated and intricate for a new player to pick up and be successful w/o many practices. We are a quarter of the way through the season and Jefferson is still having issues in the Jazz System.

Battier would pick up the offense easily. Players around the league have stated he is probably the smartest player in the league and he has played against the Jazz for a long time. With Memphis and Houston.

We can slowly work Lee into the system. I think the wing positions are rather easy to learn in comparison to the PF and C. And they aren't playing major minutes like Jefferson is. When the offense revolves around the PG and the big it makes things harder. SG's and SF's don't hurt the team as much during the learning curve.

I like Lee, but his shooting has to become more consistent. I think losing AK would probably be a step back this year. Think Houston might do it for Okur? Salaries would be closer.

The rockets made out like bandits on the deal for twill. The jazz for whatever reason seem to miss out on deals like this

This is a great trade idea. But why in the hell would Houston do this?

I listed how the rockets have been interested in AK and Fesenko. Rockets also have a huge problem in the length department. The bigger teams are taking advantage of them. AK gives them more length and is better than Battier overall and they only have 1 center in Brad Miller. Fesenko could fill that role nicely and they would have the right to sign him to a multi year deal this coming summer.

I do agree that the Rockets might be giving up too much but you also have to understand that they have a log jam at the wing position now. But maybe we would need to give them a 2nd round pick but I honestly think the following.

Battier < AK
Lee > Fesenko

And I think its close on the Lee Fesenko because True centers are hard to find. Jeffries doesn't even play for the Rockets and his deal is expiring.

Sure, but how many losses is it going to cost the Jazz or how many wins will it earn? I guess it all depends if you are looking for a win this year or if it's more of a long-term suggestion.

Don't be so quick fill one hole by causing another. AK does a lot for the offense when they go through scoring droughts. AK knows how to get to the line and shoots a good ft%. This more than makes up for whatever he may lack in outside shooting. This seems to be consistently overlooked in AK discussions. AK has multiple 4-7 free throw games. The fouls he draws also help others either get to the line or benefit from relaxed defenders.

...yeah, but the reason we have so many scoring droughts is because they leave Klinko wide open...and he can't make a jumpshot to save his neck!
