What has NY accomplished? I'd take two very good players instead of a MAX guy like Carmelo. You have limited dollars to spend. Pay MAX to a player whose net (pts scored vs. allowed) is very low. In addition, if the offense isn't geared 100% to his liking, he can't produce and will complain until the coach is replaced.

Okay now we're talking. Yeah, it's tough to decide if paying max is smart for any player. It's really becoming tough deciding how much to spend on your marquee guys and other complementary players. I think everyone's looking for that special blend.

I don't look at stats ever, but I doubt Melo's points scored vs. points allowed is very low. He's really good. I hope he plays with Lebron. That would be the ultimate!

I'll say Vonleh I guess. Not terribly excited about any of these guys tbh. Gordon is intriguing. He can guard forwards and stuff, but he won't improve the offense any and the Jazz hardly got to play any set halfcourt defense this year. As a big 12 basketball fan of someone other than Ok St., I hate Smart. Randle might be solidish, but I prefer more potential.

But I'm on board with whatever the Jazz do!

Also, AI's Sixers were built to neglect scoring and focus on defense to compliment AI. Pretty sure the Sixers were a pretty good defensive team despite having AI on their team.

Though as good as Iverson was he is proof that you can't go deep in the playoffs consistently with just one guy.

I am still waffling between Smart and Vonleh. I think Vonleh will eventually be the best of this bunch and his ceiling is Lamarcus Aldridge but that is a few years away. I think Smart has a high ceiling too of about Russel Westbrook and fills a much more immediate need. Vonleh is more likely to reach that ceiling but both have equally high ceilings but Smart can make a much greater impact right away. I love both options if the big 4 are gone. I think I'll pick Smart BARELY.
