An ESPN Insider article came out recently about redrafting the 2010 NBA Draft. As you all know two of the Jazz's best players came from the 2010 NBA Draft (Favors, Hayward).

1. Washington Wizards - John Wall

David Thorpe - John Wall

Amin Elhassan - John Wall

2. Philadelphia 76ers - Evan Turner

David Thorpe - DeMarcus Cousins

Amin Elhassan - Paul George

3. New Jersey Nets - Derrick Favors

David Thorpe - Paul George

Amin Elhassan - DeMarcus Cousins

4. Minnesota Timberwolves - Wesley Johnson

David Thorpe - Derrick Favors

I don't see Favors as a perfect complement to Love, but he is too good to pass on here. Miami is showing that you can win big without standard 4s and 5s, and Love's shooting skill helps Favors grow to be a better bucket-getter because of the space he'd have to operate.

Amin Elhassan - Derrick Favors

I've often said I'd rather have Favors than Cousins as a surer bet long term and a much better defender. Minnesota didn't get the chance to draft him, but if it had, he would have made a marvelous combination with Kevin Love as a defensive protector and excellent finisher.

5. Sacramento Kings - DeMarcus Cousins

David Thorpe - Eric Bledsoe

Amin Elhassan - Eric Bledsoe

6. Golden State Warriors - Ekpe Udoh

David Thorpe - Greg Monroe

Amin Elhassan - Gordon Hayward

Although Don Nelson already was checked out in 2010, I still would have loved to see what kind of creative lineups he could have concocted with a big shooting wing who can play-make like Hayward.

7. Detroit Pistons - Greg Monroe

David Thorpe - Larry Sanders

Amin Elhassan - Greg Monroe

8. Los Angeles Clippers - Al-Farouq Aminu

David Thorpe - Ed Davis

Amin Elhassan - Ed Davis

9. Utah Jazz - Gordon Hayward

David Thorpe - Gordon Hayward

I thought Utah would take him early in the spring of 2010 as both a small forward and a shooting guard. Hayward has not yet realized his considerable potential, but he is a good fit there without doubt.

Amin Elhassan - Lance Stephenson

I first saw Stephenson as an eighth grader at the ABCD camp in New Jersey, and it was very apparent the only thing that would prevent a talent of that magnitude from making it would be the hubris of himself and his circle. He's never looked as good as he does now, and a lot of that is because of the tough love administered by the man who drafted him, Larry Bird. Stephenson would have received the same kind of strict treatment in Utah, which would have been good for his career.

10. Indiana Pacers - Paul George

David Thorpe - Patrick Patterson

Amin Elhassan - Quincy Pondexter

I stopped at #10, because that is pretty much all the Jazz should care about. Essentially the Nets made a great pick with Favors at #3, with a redraft of him going #4 to both people. Same with the Jazz making a great pick with Hayward at #9, with a redraft of him going #6 and #9 to both people.

Sure enough, that one is a head scratcher. Davis is so far a journey man bench player who has yet to crack a rotation to get significant minutes. Neither Toronto or Memphis appear to see him as someone deserving much playing time.
 
White Chocolate, thanks for the list but i really wanna see the other half of the list as well. Ed Davis taken over Hayward.. 2nd author also took Quincy Pondexter over Hayward!! Wow...

A corner specialist with average D is a top 10 pick in a redraft huh? Why are they hatin on Turner? Come on now, It's ridiculous to take Pondexter over Evan Turner or Gordon. Even Aminu is better than him imo.

Quincy had never averaged more than 21 min a game. 6.4 ppg is his career high in scoring. What the hell is wrong with second analyst?

I was on the front row of the ESA when they announced Gordon Hayward. I booed my head off, and I still stand by my boo. Paul George was the better player and KOC was clearly WRONG.

I remember CY giving me and calijazz so much crap for wanting PG.

It's okay, we can all trust that he's going to be 100 percent right on Aaron Gordon... Right? ;)
 
Just lost a lot of respect for David Thorpe. Picking Ed Davis over Gordon Hayward is the dumbest thing I have heard in a long time.

Thats like saying we should draft Luke Babbit over Gordon Hayward......
