New Draft Express Mock - Exum to #6

I'd have to argue that that shouldn't be sufficient at all. I'd want to see him as close to the draft as possible, considering how young he is and the fact that I'd want DL, Perrin and even now Snyder to get a first hand look at him. These aren't things you leave to "oh, well so and so saw him in x months ago".

By contrast, Orlando knew a **** ton about Smart last year but have worked him out twice this year.

Agreed with all of that but I will point out that Burke never came I for a workout with the Jazz last year.

The Jazz Scouting department has been watching this kid for at LEAST two years.

Can't think of anything that might have surfaced recently that explains Jabari to 2, and Wiggins to 3. What a heist for Philly that would be.

Sixers/Clippers season ticket holder here.

The Bucks owners have publicly said during fan season ticket holder events that they have Jabari/Embiid as their top 2 prospects. Several reports indicate that their GM has a boner for Exum too, so apparently Wiggins is #4 on their board.

Smart had two workouts with the Magic (only prospect to have that) and was their coveted player last year.

Hopefully that helps inform you guys!

Sidenote: As a Sixers fan, if Wiggins is gone at #3, I'd be receptive to a 3 for 5 swap provided that you include Kanter, Burks, and a future first and provided Exum falls to 5.

I am trying to decide if the Jazz not bringing Exum in means they have already decided against him or not? Maybe they have had extensive talks with him in Australia? Who knows. Maybe they just don't like him at all for some reason, or maybe they desperately want him and think he is going to be Kobe?

Is it official they're not bringing in Exum?

If I was a gm with more knowledge of Exum then any other team, and if I was sold on Exum, why bring him in? All that does is tip everyone off that he really is a great prospect.

Maybe they tried to bring him in he said no. He's been in the discussion as a top-4 pick pretty much the entire time. Perhaps his agent feels it would be a bad sign to have him workout for teams beyond the #4 pick; maybe would give the impression they were worried about him falling.

If your company is based on predictions and you claim to be the best as DX does, why not be as transparent as possible?

there's lesser draft sites, in other sports too, that at-least put out a few paragraphs explaining the movement with an updated Mock. Some like Walterfootball.com leave the prior mocks pick below each of the updated picks, with an explanation of the move. When recruiting services update their lists they also put out bulleted lists explaining the big moves, dunno whats up with DX in that regard. The scouting reports are top-notch though.

They do on some of their extended mock drafts. We'll get at least one detailed one before the draft.

Burke didn't come in because he was not projected to fall to where the jazz had their pick. Burke was at #6 in a few final mock drafts. I wouldn't have expected him to work out for a team that had the #14 pick. Exum is a different story, though. A team in the 5-7 range could decide to trade up a few spots. That way, if Orlando doesn't pick him, he has others interested. Then again, if his agent thinks there's a chance he won't have great workouts, he limits them. If Exum slips past Orlando, teams that didn't get a chance to see him privately may snap him up as a "steal."

The agents for Wiggins, Parker, Embiid and Exum have said that they will only be working out for the teams with the top 4 picks.

So why didn't Burke work out for the Jazz then? He and his agent knew that PG was a major priority for the Jazz.

The idea that we know more about Exum than any other team is a complete guess. Things like this get taken as fact on this board and then get regurgitated ad nauseum.

Exum has made it known, since he declared, that he had a short list of teams he would work out for. The Jazz are not on that list, apparently.
