Yep... it's the Ultimate Showdown. Because that's what we could be looking at draft night... do we trade up to grab Jabari? Or do we stand pat and grab Aaron Gordon?

Jabari

- Ultimate scorer
- Great shooter
- Clutch
- Is he athletic enough?
- Endurance issues? Why does coach K keep sitting him at the end of games?
- Tongan 'fat genes' issue?

Gordon

- Ultimate defender
- Great athleticism
- Potential ultimate 2-way player
- Can he improve his shooting?
- Can he improve his scoring?

A month ago I say Jabari hands down run away if you could get into a position to take him. Now I'm not so sure. I'm starting to see Gordon potentially as a tier 1 guy and if you can grab him while staying put that's even better.

Gordon seems to have made real progress last month or so shooting the ball. Seems to me his shot is fixable and we only really need him to be able to hit occasional corner 3's and some put back dunks to be serviceable.

A freak athlete, who likes to defend and has an improving 3pt shot..... does that sound familiar to anyone????

(Paul George).

I voted Parker just cuz it would be too hard to pass up on that polished of an offensive player.

LOL.. wow.. really??? If Gordon can improve his shot he is easily the 3rd best talent in this draft:

1. Embiid
2. Wiggins
3. Gordon

I always feel like you get 2 players for the price of 1 when he/she can defend & score.

You keep saying stuff like, "Aaron Gordon with a jumpshot is the 2nd best player in the draft" - or something along those lines. The fact is, he doesn't have that currently, so that's why he's positioned where he's positioned. Andrew Wiggins with better shooting and ball-handling would be the unanimous number one pick, but again, no one can currently have a potential skill.

Can Gordon develop that? Sure, but Parker is way beyond him in the skills department and would have potential too.

You should attempt to put a semi-realistic trade-up scenario for the Jabari pick. Otherwise your poll is gonna read like 'Parker or Gordon', and it probably will not be very close.

Define "score". 17 ppg?
Jabari has a Carmelo offensive ceiling, that's 28 ppg.

3rd, not 2nd.

You do need a top 5 defender to win in this league, but you don't necessarily need a top 5 scorer to win (Spurs). On that basis I'm gonna take Gordon over Jabari (if I'm confident I can improve his shooting/scoring ala Paul George).
