I think defensively, Gobert can do about everything Favors does...and then some.
That won't even net you a lottery pick this year IMO.
I meant with the #5 pick included. Obviously.
of course it's a gamble. but the jazz have a better idea of what favors is than Wiggins and it's pretty clear he's not gonna be leading the jazz to any NBA finals. and really how big of a gamble can a team that won 20 some games last year be? it can't get much worse. might as well get the guy you want if you think he's that good. I think he is, you think he isn't, not a big deal.
fwiw, I don't underestimate Favors at all, big fan of him
Exactly. I have no doubt that Spence Checketts could have a source in the business. However I DO doubt that (1) any source is necessarily telling the truth (or even knows the truth) at this time of year, and (2) the Jazz would tell Cleveland who they were targeting with the pick.I'm not sure Lindsey would tell them who he wanted to take with the pick at this stage.

It would benefit the Cavs to leak that the Jazz are targeting Wiggins so that the Sixers hear this rumor (directly or indirectly), so that the Sixers believe their only chance to get Wiggins is to deal with the Cavs (not the Bucks) and up their offer.
That is my "40% probable" prediction: The Sixers and Cavs swap picks, Sixers take Wiggins, Cavs take home a ton of assets and pick Embiid at 3.
Embiid could fall to #5, though, and I think they'd take Favors over anything else the Sixers could offer.
DL, just do whatever it takes to get #1 and grab Wiggins.
Favors + #5 + #23 + GSW 2017 pick
Just get it done.
